This is our 1st RC cruise after cruising DCL several times. Does anyone know if RCCL does the fish extender gift exchanges line DCL? My kids always looked forward to their surprises when we came back to our room!

Never heard and IMO doesn’t make sense. FE’s are so tied to the Disney brand, merchandising, characters. Most gifts are Disneyfied

Part of the joy of giving/ making is tieing in Disney, the logo, the mouse.

I would be stumped on what to give on our Oasis cruise.

Nope, I've never seen anything resembling FE's on Royal and I don't recall seeing any kind of "fish hook" outside the stateroom that would lend itself to that. I do see people decorating their stateroom doors with magnets and small dri-erase boards...not to the extent you see on DCL, but still present.

Have fun...your kids (and you) will still have a great time!

There are no fish extenders but some folks do swap either thru the Cruise Critic Meet and Mingle (sign up on cruise critic and find your roll call to see if anyone is doing that) or thru FB groups.

We have provided our own FE gifts to our kids on our non-Disney cruises and they loved them! Also much easier to personalize as they are family and I know what they love!

Awesome idea!!!! Thanks!

Another tip...Since it was a non-Disney cruise, I would hang the fish extender inside the cabin so nothing was taken out of it after being filled. To fill, my DH would take the boys to wherever we were headed and I would either meet them in the elevator lobby claiming I had to use the bathroom quick or I would meet them at our destination on the ship! So when we returned to the room...Ta da, all filled! DS15 knew I was filling them but he didn't care as he loved what he was getting! :)

Could always fill after bedtime and have a "wake up surprise" before breakfast.

I did a post card exchange with a group on a Carnival cruise and it was a lot of fun. Some people gave small gifts, but it was intended just as post cards (I shared one of where we live with a recipe on it for the chocolate melting cake that's popular on those ships). We got an assortment of candy from others as well. It was fun, but certainly not to the fish extender standards I've heard of!

We have signed up for a Cruise Critic Meet and Mingle on our February 14th Oasis of the Seas cruise.
