On the Disney Cruise Line, there is a fish on the wall outside of every stateroom door where they put your daily newsletter of happenings on the ship. The fish extender is a multi-pocketed thing that people hang from the fish, hence "extending" the fish, and each family member has their own pocket. On the cruise boards here on the Dis, each sailing has a "meet" thread where someone organizes those who want to participate in a fish extender gift exchange. Once on the ship, you go by your list of participants and deliver little gifts in their fish extender. HTH!!!
