Fish Extender Gifts

Wow, thanks. Great info to have.

Also, love the moon pie idea too. I'm from KY and I brought cans of Ale81, which is made in Winchester, KY. Worst idea I ever had. :thumbsup2

I've looked through several threads, and haven't found an answer. Does anyone know if it's possible to ship a box in advance to one of the other ports?

I am asking for myself and the Vancouver port in the fall, but I'm sure others would love to know for Los Angeles, etc.

Have any of you had experience with this?

Yes you can. There is a sticky on the top of the threads (FAQ) that gives details and the address. I did it last year. It worked great. It wasn't super cheap, but well worth it to NOT have DH complaining and schleping the boxes through the airports and port. It was WELL worth the money. I had breakable items, I packed them very well and shipped Fed Ex. Everything arrived in great shape with just a couple of little shells broken, which was really good. You should allow 7-10 days just to be on the safe side (depending on how you ship). Here is the info I have found.
Boxes Sent the Ship Ahead of Cruise - PLEASE follow these instructions carefully!!!!!! UPDATED AS OF 2/25/2009
• ONE box per stateroom, no exceptions.
• The package must have the guest full name, ship, sailing date, stateroom number or GTY if you have not been assigned a stateroom number.
• The package also must have a packing slip attached to the outside of the box that details the contents of the package. For prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient. Your list may or may not be read but it must have one. Write packing slip on the outside of the envelope.
• NO FOODS/DRINKS OF ANY KIND, LIQUOR OF ANY KIND, FIREARMS, ETC.. Items that cannot be shipped to the Disney Cruise Line Warehouse and delivered to the ship include: food products (any and all food products including baby food/formula), beverages (liquor, water, etc.), chemicals, and luggage. These items will not be accepted at the warehouse and will be returned. This may cause the dogs to hit on your box and that would be a bad thing.
• The required size of the cartons you are shipping down have to be about the size of a record storage box 12 inches on a side and should not weigh more than 20 lbs. (This has been asked personally by Dave Adams who is the owner)

Address your package(s) to:
Disney Cruise Line Warehouse
Guest Name / Stateroom # (GTY, if you don't know what it is when you send the package)
8633 Transport Drive
Orlando, FL 32832
Phone: 407-566-8196

In the bottom left corner of the top of the package put the following information: ATTN: HOUSEKEEPING
*Name
*Sail Date
*Ship
*Stateroom Number
*Packing slip that details contents of the package (for prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient)
• Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00pm for the 7-Night Cruise on the Disney Magic (Saturday).
• Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00pm for the 4-Night Cruise on the Disney Wonder (Sunday).
• Packages must arrive by Wednesday by 3:00pm for the 3-Night Cruise on the Disney Wonder (Thursday).

If your box is hit on by the screening dog or chosen for additional screening they will open the list and the box and look through it. They will close it back up and provided nothing bad is in it then it will be in your room as usual later after boarding. These boxes will be coming on the ship with the crew mail among other things so they may be in the staterooms later then they were before as they are low priority in the scheme of things for Disney.

This info only applies to Port Canaveral. :)

Big Mike:

North Jersey is awesome. I live in Rio Vista (Ramapo mountains in Mahwah) and also have a summer home on the water in Lavallette. It is so beautiful here. Bayonne is an industrial city that serves its purpose, as well as the South Jersey cities, Camden, Trenton, etc.. Sorry - I get crazy with all the slams to this state just because people drive the turnpike. It is a beautiful state. And New Jersians Love Disney like no other, especially for Jersey week in November.

I know this is an old post, but I'm glad to see you sticking up for NJ! My heart sings as I approach Cape May, Exit 0!

I'm searching this tread for ideas for FEs for the 2013 DVC member cruise!

Going through FE gift ideas and found this post from 2008.

What an AMAZING GIFT. :worship:

Just thought I would share the dis tag gifts I made last October.

I made 19 paper bag scrapbooks. I asked for the last name of each family participating and did a title page with "Smith family cruise" and if there was more than one last name in the family I just put Our Family Cruise.

They were pretty much the same but I did run out of supplies for the last 6 or so, I had to make new pages for those ones.

It took me a long time to make them but everyone seemed to like them :thumbsup2

They took up a lot of room though, so for our next cruise I will be doing something a LOT smaller :rolleyes1

I also put in some Canadian postcards and some pirate stuff for the kids.

(I blurred the last names)

Hi Folks!
I'm from Canada and was wondering what sort of Canadian things would be great FE gifts for adults.

The kids in my FE group are done, but I'm not sure what the adults would like and I'd like it to represent where I'm from.
Thanks in advance!

miniature bottles of maple syrup - anything with the maple leaf on ie ie. coasters etc.

How about mini Coffee Crisp bars or small pakages of Tim Hortons coffee?

maple sugar candies, luggage tags with maple leaf, earrings, key chains, souvenir postcards

If you send a package to yourself are you allowed to have prepackaged food in it? I know it says no food, but if its prepackaged and sealed is that okay?

If you are sending a package to yourself at the cruise port, you cannot have food in it. From the FAQ sticky (bolding mine):

That is going to make for some heavy luggage on the way down...I'll have to divide it up amongst our luggage...

Thanks
