Fish Extender gift ideas for teens

I had three room to do FE's for so ours were more in the $5 range since we combined the gift. Makes for a much nicer gift though IMO :goodvibes

For the adults we did a little drink bag with a cup, can of pineapple juice and a mini bottle of rum. I know there is a lot of debate about using alcohol in adult FE gifts but mine were already bought and made and there was no way I was returning 38 bottles of rum!! We also did a magnet set with DCL images and key fobs that I made out of our CC lanyards along with a mini bottle of hand sanitizer.

For the infants/toddlers I gave a travel plastic huggies wipes decorated with duck tape mickey heads, jake and the neverland pirates maracas and a color wonder book set.

Grade school age kids
the boys got a Pirates of the Caribbean pen, notepad and book cover along with a mini hand sanitizer, fake moustaches, a pirate eye patch, Disney travel tissue and a Disney clapper toy.
most of the girls got a mickey head clapper toy, NY Yankees hair clips, Minnie mouse pen, Disney princess tissue, hand sanitizer, Disney mini play pack, and some depending on their age got cover girl island colors nail polish and/or fake moustaches.

the older girls got a tinker bell small zipper pouch with a nail polish, tissue, hand sanitizer, a tinker bell pen and NY Yankees bow pin.

older boys got a Disney chapstick, hunger games chocolate bar, hand sanitizer, key fob, tissue and something else but I can't remember what. :confused3

I had a lot of fun getting the gifts, making the other gifts and packaging everything up. I bought almost everything from clearance bins. the CC nail polish was regularly priced at $3.99 and I paid $0.79 a piece for them so for me it was a deal I couldn't pass up. We had a dollar store going out of business so the pens, notepads, book covers, tissue, cups and hand sanitizers were really cheap. the most expensive thing I purchased at $4.00 a piece on clearance were the zip top tinker bell cosmetic bags for the tweens and even a couple of those were in a 2 pack but I was having a hard time finding something for them and my DD13 wanted one so I thought that was a good place to start. Shop around and raid the clearance isle at your local pharmacy. that's were I found the best deals and have fun. Pinterest is also a great place to find ideas for FE gifts.

I ordered from this site for my wedding then found out the company is about 30 minutes away from where I live haha! The chap stick is amazing though really good quality!

Another idea for the teens are sundae kits. Someone did this on our cruise and got bright green solo cups, glues a big eye on them. It had a spoon and sprinkles. It had a tag on it saying Eye Scream you scream we all scream for Eye Scream! - So cute!

Love that!!! I'm officially copying that clever cruiser!!!:thumbsup2

I think girls are a different story, but what's the oldest a boy would enjoy getting a Disney trading pin? I know I still love them!

DS16 likes key chains and book marks. But, not necessarily characters (too childish for high school)

For my teenage nephews I got plain foam drink cozy's from Michael's and then applied foam beach theme stickers on them. Also got Capt'n Jack Pez dispensers for them from Michael's (and their dad tracked me down and asked if I had any more of those, so obviously the boys wouldn't give them up). Then just a goody bag with some tootsie rolls and smarties, etc. that they could snack on the ship or for their long drive home when the cruise ended.

I have my first disney cruise coming up soon. We are participating in this and super excited. I noticed you said the dad tracked you down looking for more of the PEZ. Does that mean you are supposed to put labels on the gifts? with your name and room number?? Sorry if that is a dumb question, I am just trying to do this right, and I have no idea.. lol

What did you do for adults? This is our first time and not really sure what age range I'm looking at I'm trying to make it neutral but adults are definitely hard. Any ideas??

We did a few different things for adults... An easy diy door magnet using the photo insert magnets- a Christmas ornament- and Christmas clearance starbucks hot chocolate packs. Gifts we received that were super useful- those plastic cups with straws and things that doubled as a souvenir.

When I was 16, 17, and 19, I've gotten some things from the FE:

Trading Cards, Stickers, BBQ sauce, Ice cream toping/bowls

The original intent of the Fish Extender exchange was a sort of Secret Santa, so no tags or identification of who gave what. Recently, people have requested that others put tags on their gifts. Speculation is that they just wantto be sure that nothing got "lifted" from their FE, or that they want to make sure everyone gave like they were supposed to (and who gave the "best").

When I participate, I don't tag anything. It's supposed to be magical receiving gifts with no strings attached.

Thanks so much for posting this. I'm getting ready for my first cruise, first fish extender in March and I have been debating about whether or not to sign the gifts. I like the idea or not knowing who gives what. Makes it more fun and less stress about who gave what to whom. I have some leftovers from getting stuff for the fish extender gifts and if I have the luggage space I plan to just drop some things into random fish extenders for the fun of it.
