In March my dd 5 and I will be flying to wdw. I have never been to an airport before or on a plane. What should I expect at the airport what should I bring and when should I arrive at the airport. Any suggestion please.

Do you have a friend or some one at work that flies that you could discuss this with. For a first time flier there are alot of details that you should know to make the process less stressful.

What airport are you flying out of?

Here would be a couple of quick ideas.....
-Pack light for carry-ons.. If its just you and a 5yo, you're going to have your hands full just tracking your child. Pack enough to keep them occupied, but check most things.
-Consider a stroller of your own with. You can keep the child in it in the airport an it may help getting to the gate. They will take it from you at the door to the plane, tag it, then take it back out at your destination! This will help on both ends of the flight.
- Don't underestimate the pain of flying for a child. Some talk about a child pain reliever to help. The thing I found to help is to have a sippy cup for the times going up and down (swallowing helps equalize the pressure).
- RELAX!!!! If you get stressed, they will too!

Have fun and good luck .... My problems flying are DW, not DD :)

You might want to ask this question on the transportation board. You will get lots of great advice.

We wil be at POP when you are: March 23-26. Have a safe flight!

I would have a friend maybe take you to the airport to support you through at least the first part of the process.

Sorry! I just spent 1/2 an hour typing out a response for you and my computer crashed! I just don't have the heart to start all over again. If I can help, please PM me - I'd be happy to walk you through the process.

The main thing I can think of is just to be sure and allow yourself enough time at the airport so you are not running to get to your flight. You never know what the crowds at the airport will be like and, with a child, it's very important to give yourself enough time.

I would recommend arriving at the airport 1 1/2 to 2 hours before your flight is scheduled to leave.
