First weekend in February?

My friend and I are looking at going to DL 2/1-2/4 with 3 day park hoppers. I’ve been to DL twice (last time was January 2016) and she used to work at WDW but hasn’t been to DL since she was too young to remember.
Is this weekend a decent time to visit? Seems holiday free so hoping for reasonable crowds. MaxPass is new to me so I’m reading up on that. Any other tips or advice for DL newbies particularly for that time of year?

While I don't really think there are any times at DLR when the parks are empty nowadays, I think you stand a chance of being there when the crowds aren't that bad/overwhelming. Weekends are always busy in the parks, so as long as you go prepared for crowds, I think you can have a lot of fun. It's worth noting that is Superbowl weekend, so depending on who's in the game and what the weather is like, there may be crowds in the parks. This thread talked about Super Bowl weekend in previous years and it sounds like it may be potentially fairly crowded on Superbowl Sunday itself. There will probably be some attractions down for refurbishment (my guess is at least one of the water based attractions - so either Splash or Grizzly - and then a few others), but if the schedule from previous years hold, IaSW should be reopening that weekend. Fireworks and F! are likely only going to be presented on weekends (Fri-Sun), but WoC is usually nightly.

A number of attractions will be down for refurbishment. Regular park hours will be reduced. Its always crowded and even if its less so, with the ride closures, it very well may seem packed with the wait times. Also February is kind of the rainy season by SoCal standards.
