If you had a choice, which week would you pick and why?

Keep in mind, the less crowded, the better. Light crowds would be awesome.....moderate crowds we can handle......heavy crowds we don't want.

It will be myself, hubby, DS 10, and DS 6. Mickey's Trick-or-Treat would be fun. (We went to the party before and had a blast, but we don't want to go to DLR during Halloween time again if there is going to be heavy crowds.)

I did notice that all of the fall breaks will be over prior to Halloween week, so that's good, but other than that, I can't quite gauge what the crowds will be like this year during Halloween week and a few days extending into November.

Any thoughts on our choice of dates?

Nothing really substantial to add - except that we chose Nov. 1-6 to avoid the crowds during Sept. We were originally scheduled to go right after Labor Day and then saw all the info about the 1/2 marathon and then D23 and the Haunted Mansion thingy and changed our dates. It seems like it will be more crowded than I want it to be in Sept.

In Nov. you will miss Veteran's Day and you could still see some of the Halloween stuff since it officially goes through Nov. 1. You could do the ToTP if you still wanted to do it, although it gets substantially more expensive the closer you get to Halloween.

That's a tough call, Capri.
I think it depends on what you and your family want to do most. Sept is swimming pool weather and somewhat crowded. Of course, it could be 100 degrees which would ruin it for me. The marathon and other events will bulk up crowds but it won't compare to the Oct masses. I think a lot of rides are closed or being refurbed in Sept, too. The dates in Oct I would think will be packed, but you can do the Halloween party and enjoy the decorations. The last three days (in Nov) should be wide open as far as getting in all the rides you wish. That week would be half and half - you know half madhouse, half quiet. I might pick the later dates. Good luck deciding.:)

Linda, I was kind of thinking this too about the later dates.....half madhouse, half quieter. I'm leaning towards going during Halloween myself, and I KNOW my boys want to go during Halloween. Hmmmmmm, thinking this would be a better time.

Well shoot, now we're wavering and think that maybe going the first week of September would be better crowds wise, as long as we head back home by Saturday, September 5th (when the labor day weekend crowds and half marathon crowds will be there in full force). :upsidedow

Plus, school doesn't start for our boys until September 8th, so if we go the week prior, we wouldn't have to worry about them missing any school.

I'm pretty sure that most other schools in the western states will already be back in session during the first week of September, right? Or am I wrong about that? Knowing this might be the deciding factor on when we go.

Anyone else with thoughts on this? :confused3 (It always helps to get different perspectives because inevitably, someone always thinks of something that you didn't.)
