We're (we, as in I) planning our first trip to WDW. I was wondering if the first week of May was a good time to go. I know the weekends are usually "Grad Nites", but we will not be in any parks til Sunday. We'll arrive Sat. and hit DTD and swim, then be in the parks Sun-Thurs. and leave Friday before the Grads party.
If anyone has been during this time, please tell me about your experience (with crowds, etc.). Also, I homeschool, so the kids' schedule is not a problem.

I think this would be a great time for you to go. Most kids are in school so crowds should be moderate and the weather will be great. I would love to have the flexible schedule that you get when you home school, but my kids love going to school, I did too as a kid, so homeschooling is not an option for us. Have fun planning!

We've been there both the first week and the second week of May. Loved it!. Crowds were moderate. Weather was great this past May 04. Very little humidity. Can't say that for May 02 or 03 as we did find the weather to be hotter than normal. I would not hesitate to go this time of year. Also, we ran into no problems with grad nites. Maybe we just lucked out! Have fun planning. Feel free to email me if I can be of further assistance.

May is our FAVORITE month to go! It is mid 80s and dry....only 1/2 day of rain in the past 3 May trips!
The crowds....what crowds! It is awsome! The longest wait was 15-20 for Peter Pans flight and Dumbo (in the middle of the day and that ride always has a long wait no matter when you go!) Tower of Terror and Rock n Roller coaster were walk ons almost and we always hit the Safari in AK 1 st thing so that is usually a walk on as well.
The only reason we are going in November is because it is my daugter's 5th b-day (mine too!)and we went for the other kids b-days....I am only hoping for nice weather and crowds when we leave in a few more weeks.
GO FOR MAY!!!!!!!!!!:earsgirl:

We went in the 2nd week of May last year and we really enjoyed ourselves. On EE days we found that the parks were crowded but not unbearable. The weather is great in that month so enjoy! :)

THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!

I WAS ORIGINALLY THINKING OF GOING THE LAST WEEK OF APRIL, BUT THE ALL-STAR MOVIES RATES ARE CHEAPER IF WE GO THE FIRST WEEK OF MAY. I WAS A LITTLE WORRIED ABOUT CROWDS FROM GRAD NITES. BUT NOW I FEEL SECURE WITH THESE DATES.

We're going 4/30-5/7. Don't worry about Grad nights. Someone on the Theme park boards had a link that listed grad nights. The last night was 4/30.

You may get bigger crowds with the 50th anniversary of Disneyland being celebrated at Disneyworld beginning 5/5/05. But don't worry about it. You'll have a great time!

I don't think there's anything wrong with your dates, but the rates should be the same. Regular Season: April 17 - August 27, October 5 - November 26
