anyone ever been like the first full week of March? if so, how were the crowds then? thanks!

yes I have been this week before and the crowds arent too bad at all.. MK was the busiest park but it always is anyway.. We utilized FP as much as possible and EMH.. the evening EMH were great because alot of people with the little ones leave the parks and we usually get to walk right on rides or very minimal wait..

Im currently contemplating going in March with the family.. Not sure but thinking about it..

We went the first week of March 2003. It wasn't bad as far as crowds, and the weather was great. I think most schools don't start spring break until mid-March atleast. But many people assume that all of March is crazy crowded with spring-breakers....it's not. I think it gets worse as the month goes on, and early March isn't bad. I'd call it moderate.

Our next trip is the first full week of March 2007, hopefully it's just like our 2003 trip! :wizard:

I'm also glad to hear this! The first full week in March is our Spring Break (early for us) and we're headed to the World! :cool1:

I think you'll be glad you went.. This really is a great time to go.. Crowds arent bad and the weather is perfect!

I was there Mar 1-4 this year and the weather was great and the crowds were low. I had a great time.

Was there March 3-6 last year, and the crowds were so light and we had such a great time, we're headed back March 3-8. ESPN the weekend is a good time, and the crowds and weather are perfect.

Here's a link to all the college spring breaks, and it gives you a better idea of when to avoid DW. The week after the 5th-10th is the most popular.

We were there this year from Feb.28th-March 7th and it was perfect. Weather during the day was shorts weather, gets cool at night. And we never waited more than 10 mins. for a ride.

We love going the split week Feb/March.

:listen:

Your saying that the first week is good but what about the 2nd??????
Were heading down for the 8 - 12 and am hopping to miss our friends when our March Break up here starts on the 9th. I'm hoping by taking the kids out of school a few days early we'll get in the popular parks first and then hit the off ones after the crowd heads down. Will I make it or do you think I'll be hit???? Never been in March to WDW just in Florida last year and the beaches were more crowded at the gulf side.

Ive also been the second week of March and its not that bad.. again Im not saying there are no crowds but its manageable.. We use Fastpass as much as we can.. so basically we get to the park and get a FP and then ride a ride or usually 2 and then head back to the ride where we got a FP and ride that ride.. Than we move onto another ride we want a FP for.. we then ride another ride or 2 closeby and then go back.. we do this continually... I do the FP option on the bigger rides and then stand in lines for the others.. The only time I have ever stood in line more than 15 minutes that I can remember (although my mind is fading :rotfl: ) was when I went in 2000 and got a FP for Test Track and still stood in line for 1 1/2 hours.. that was the worst case scenario.. I do this as soon as we get to the parks because the FP's do run out..

We also utilize EMH.. The morning ones are usually quite busy but I still do them.. The evening ones tend to be better.. especially MK when they stay open quite late.. alot of people leave the parks.. Again the only time I can remember standing in line for EMH was once for Space Mtn and once for another ride.. (cant think of the name but its right by Buzz Lightyear.. the one that you have to go up in the elevator to get on the ride and you ride in spaceships in the air).. usually the rides are walk on.. This obviously isnt set in stone, but thats the way its been for me..

Also another tip.. Bring ponchos!! When it rains, alot of people clear out of the parks or run for cover.. The rides are still open as almost all are inside.. I bring my ponchos in backpack (the $1 ones... so they can be thrown away at the end of the rainy day) and when it starts to rain we put them on and go about our business.. Remember it rains quite frequently in Florida.. but not for long..

We were headed back in 2008 but I think we are gonna head that way over spring break which is the week of March 12th since my kids and DF's son has the same spring break this year which never happens.. they are all getting older and we are afraid that this may be the last year we can round everyone up.. we are also taking DSD, her boyfriend and our grandbaby.. Im checking out the details but I think we're gonna do it..

Hi everyone

New to posting, but have been reading alot.

My question is are there characters out in march? Because my family (me,dh,dd,dsl,dd, and 2 grand kids 5 & 3) The grand kids will be having birthdays when we go. This will be their first trip and they love all the disney characters.

We absolutely love the 1st week of March. We have been the last three years during that week. Even though it is considered peak season, the crowds don't really start showing up until the week-end we are leaving. The weather has been great except a couple of days. The characters are out and about.
