My sister and her her family have suddenly gotten the WDW bug and are planning a trip for the first week of Feb. We have never been down that time of year. Anyone have any suggestions/advice for that time?

THANKS!

Hey!!
My DD(5) and I go for a mother/daughter week each first week in February.
I love it..warm days cool nights...very little lines!
I will be there on Feb 2-6th with my mom this year. We are staying at the WL!

Just make sure to go before the Daytona 500 and it won't be so crowded. Also, rates for hotels and flights will be better.

Just my 2 cents. We are going the 24-31 of Jan because flights were cheaper and not as limited to get. Can't wait. Still undecided about the resort, really waiting to see if there are deals for Jan other than the Visa one. Come on room only rates!!!!!!!!!!!

Woo!! I just checked and the Datona 500 is Feb 15th! I should be out of there before they converge!

FL resident rates are GREAT for Jan Feb...I am on pins and needles waiting...I know I can get my WL for dirt cheap, but I have also gotten the Poly for nothing too...
Anyone know what the $$ difference is between standard and CL? I usually get upgraded to a view room, but if it isn't much, I might go for CL.

DISDMBNUT.....

Lucky you with the FL rates. Hey I have an idea....book two rooms at WL for 1/24-1/31 and we'll meet you and take advantage of your great rates. I am sure your DD and my DS would play lovely together.

LOL!!
I wish I could!! I don't get my tax refund Direct Deposit till the 23rd or 30th...I like to leave some "sweat" room in there....That is how I can go each year...it is a whole "rush to file my taxes so I can go to Disney" thing each year...
Can't you come the in Feb? The rates should be the same and no weekend crowds!

That would be so fun to meet.

As for you and the tax thing, nice planning.

Flights were not available the first week in Feb (that was the original plan).

The tax refund timing doesn't work for us too well as hubbie is a contractor and he usually doesn't get his forms until last minute. It is irritating! Especially when Jan 5, I have mine. ::yes::

Maybe next time, huh? Gotta love the fact that we can meet all kinds of great people on the DISboards.

Fan since birth! (71) Vacationed at WDW every year until 1992, then I moved there. Moved away in 1995 and have missed it all until my last trip 2002. Can't wait to have the family all together to enjoy the magic in 2004!

I am an office manager for a General Contractor!!!

I "could" drive up for the day and meet you...I live about 3 hours from Disney and I am an AP holder.

I LOVE getting the tax return..it is nice to wake up on Friday morning, call the bank and have a nice padding!

I was born and raised here in S Florida..my first Disney memory is being afraid of Goofy's "needles"(wiskers) I was only about 3 or 4!

WOW...see that is what I am talking about. The people here are GREAT! And another common thread....contractors........argh.

Really, you don't have to drive up. That is a long drive and I wouldn't want you to do that unless you could stay longer :( .

A disney fan for life....yep a lifer. Aren't we all?

Lewski709,

Wow! That is our time of year too. We will be there the 25th-31st. The 30th is my Birthday so it will be awesome. Where are you staying? We will be at the GF. We love that time of year. It just can't be beat. The weather, the lines, and enough time to stop and smell the roses.

Welll............
Wendi, we don't have ressies yet. I am not FL res, don't have AP or AAA. So I was waiting for some room only codes, or to get someone to get the GREAT rates for me so I could afford something other than All Stars.

I think 119 or less would work, but over I can't do it. I would love to stay at AKL.

So, do they do anything for you for your bday if you let them know? Curious as it will be my sons 1st bday while there.

So cool......wear a lime green ribbon so maybe we can meet some day in the parks!

Wow, you've been here a long time and it doesn't appear you have been tagged by the fairy, or am I missing something?
:teeth:

Wow!

A first Birthday at Disney! I have been there on my birthday 3 times now and usually don't say anything, a few times though my husband let the cm's at the resort know and have come home to a cake, balloons and greetings from Mickey and Minnie. That was nice. We celebrated and ate cake together. I don't like a big thing done at restaurants, so I avoid saying anything. If you tell your resort your sons birthday they most likely will offer to do something. They have always been great to us. I said something for my daughter's 3rd birthday there and they did the same thing with the cake and balloons for her. She LOVED it.
The resort will usually help arrange something at a restaurant if you want.

As for rates.......do you use a travel agent? if you pm me @ lambriwe@swbell.net I can maybe connect you with my lady. She gets great deals and is always on the hunt for better deals. She makes NO money from you, she gets her $$ from Disney. She is a certified Disney rep. and only does it to help support her habit..Disney! Warning!!!! Deluxes become habit forming. We have a hard time even thinking about going back.

Yes, I have been here a long time. I lurk until I can input some information or have a question. I try not to jump into any debates and be a good girl. I would LOVE to be tagged by the TAG FAIRY. I have clicked my heels 3 times and made countless wishes in fountains, but have not been fortunate enough to have been tagged. One day my wish will come! After all "A Dream is a wish the Heart makes".

I forgot about the Lime Green...My sister is on the Magic now and they all wore lime green shirts on embarkment!

I saw someone had made tags out of the Disney Paint chips at Home depot...she put her "DisName" on it so people would know her!!!

Tell you waiter at meals...they did a decorated table at the Liberty Inn for Kate...they had ballons and mickey confetti and she got alittle cake!

We stayed @ Fort Wlderness Feb 1-5, 2002 and it was perfect. The weather was warm during the day and cool at night. The crowds were very manageable with MK being the only one that was overly crowded. We were in MK on Sun and Mon with Mon being the far busier day.
We got a great rate, there were codes out at that time that anyone could use and were comparable to the AP codes at that time.

Gluck,
Cboy
