First week of FD?

We have gone the past 2 years when FD was offered, but it hasn't been offered this last in the month of August. We usually go mid August and its not too bad. So what will the week of Aug 25-Sept 1st be like being so close to labor day? Crazy?

I would love to hear this answer because we have never been this week before. Will it be busier than usual because of the FD promo? I have heard it usually is low crowds.

Not sure what you mean? There has been a free dining promo going on during the last week of August for the past 8 years. The crowds are moderate, a lot of kids/families are back in school so that lowers the numbers for that week, yet a lot of kids are still out of school, other families have taken them out of school to take advantage of free dining, and that ups the numbers a bit.

We go this week every year. The crowds are very manageable and we hardly ever use fast passes. We get to the park early, get through everything and spend the afternoons/evenings at the resort. We do go back into MK a couple of times for the parade and wishes.

We went last year the same week. I was say stay away from the MK labor day weeeknd. Other than that it didn't seem that busy to us. We are going from 8/24 to 9/3. We plan to hit MK on Friday Epcot on Saturday and then a Wp on Sunday.

We are also going 8/22-8/30. We have never gone at this time before either. I have been reading where others have said that this time is a bit slower due to the fact that schools are back in session down south. Since free dining has been offered for this time period the last couple of years, I am hoping that this year will be similar. I have also been following the crowd calendar on Touring Plans and seems as though the first of our vaca the crowds are heavier than the second half. Here's hoping for lighter crowds!!

Good sounds like crowds should be low! I guess I was just worried that many people planning on an august trip would push it off until the last week of August to get the FD deal. We went mid july last summer and the crowds were not crazy unbearable so hopefully its even less people in august. I hope lol

Hoping that you noticed that general public FD promo is out, beginning August 25th this year. This is of course unless they push the dates back later on. You could do a split stay and still get FD but would have to deal with the ticket purchase issue. Hope it all works out for you!
