Actually, I'm a big fan of both Disney and US/IOA. I will be attending both of them (and a
Disney Cruise, too) this year. Perhaps I can be of some assistance. The bottom line is this: US/IOA rides are more intense than WDW, IMO. So what I'm going to do is talk to you like your a WDW-er only.
For me, I would go to the Universal Studios side first. And the very first ride I would ride is the Simpsons. It's a cartoon, simulated coaster ride that is incredibly funny and fun. There is nothing to compare it to at WDW, so I can't prepare you there. But it's just great!
Right next to it is that Men In Black ride. It's the Universal answer to Buzz and is much better. It's a shooter, but with aliens. You will like it!
Then backtrack... Catch ET (Universal's answer to Small World). If you've never done Terminator 3-D, do that! (Try to sit in the middle rows for more fun. It's a show, but very cool and very 80s!)
Oh, and another thing is that you MUST ride Revenge of the Mummy! (the answer to Rockin Rollercoaster.) It's not as scary as you would think going through the queue. In my opinion, though, ROTM is my all-time favorite ride. Of any park. Period. The queue, the story, the setup, the ride itself... perfect!
But I would ride all the cool rides at Universal Studios side first. And I would eat lunch at the food court at Citywalk. (the Whopper Bar is good!)
But I would try to spend the day riding everything I could at the Studios side first.
Second day? IOA! First ride? Go straight through the gate and make that right turn. On the left side is the Hulk roller coaster. Ride that first! After that ride, go straight to the Spiderman ride and ride that. These rides have nothing comparable at WDW. Then find some other rides and take pictures until it gets a little warmer and then ride Jurassic Park. Jurassic Park? Closest thing is Dinosaur with a water ride mixed in.
Since you're wet, you might as well ride Ripsaw Falls. And then Popeye. Dry off at Dueling Dragons.
That's what I would do. If you have time... ride your favorite rides again in both parks.
