We are making our first Trip to FW at the end of August and beginning of September. While we are NOT new to Disney World, we are new to RVing with an Open Range Travel Trailer. I have used this board and all its great information to help with our first FW Trip. Thanks to all for the great information!!
I have a few questions that hopefully can be answered by the members. We are FL residents (and AARP folks but Kids at heart) and usually have seasonal passes which usually dictate when we make our trips to Disney (avoiding Block out dates). My adult son (29) and girlfriend have decided to join us for this trip to Disney. They dont camp and prefer to stay at the Fort Wilderness Lodge rather than a FW Cabin (we are just happy they are joining us). Now as FL residents and Pass holders there are often discounts available to us, so in the past (when any our adult kids decided to come with us) we have booked multiple rooms in Our names so we can take advantage of the discounts if available in an effort to help lower the cost a little. For this trip I have our Campsite in my name and will book a room at the Lodge in my wifes name.
So for my questions
How far away is the FW Lodge for the Campground, could you walk it?
Is there a road that runs between the Campgrounds and the Lodge or do you have to exit the Campgrounds to get to the FW Lodge?
Can you get from the Campgrounds to the Lodge via a Golf Cart? Is there a Cart path or road between the two? (this may be answered by the question above)?
If you CAN travel to the Lodge via a Golf Cart is there a Cart Parking area at the Lodge?
We are really looking forward to this New experience at Disney, camping at Fort Wilderness. After a lot of research and looking at the Loops on the Google Earth App (GREAT) I made a request for Loop 600 and one of the sites that backs up to the water. I was trying to look at the sites and there access on Google Earth to pick one that appeared to be easy to back into, looking at the angle of the site with respect to the Loop road and where the sites across the street were. Again I am new to this (RVing) , but have towed Trailers and currently back mine up my 12 wide 150 long driveway and into a pad that angles off the main Driveway. But it is hard to tell (for me) from the Loop Videos how wide the Loop roads are and it appeared that often folks have their TV/Toads parked in their sites right along the road and in the videos it appears to really restrict the room my TV has to move to turn my TT. I am sure it is not as bad as it appears to me.
Thanks in advance for any information on my comments.
