Going to to DLP from Oct 6 to Oct 10 staying onsite. Likely have 3 1/2 days. I've gone to WDW twice, once in Dec 2010 and again in Dec 2013. I'm used to low crowd levels in WDW and utilize touring plans.

How does FP work at DLP? In Dec 2010, when I used FP they didn't enforce the return time block, as long as it was after the starting time, this came in very handy. When went in Dec 2013 had Magic Bands so was able to prebook three FP, including parades, fireworks and characters; in addition to this some of the more busy rides, such as TSM, could still use hotel room keys (as got them as backup with Magic Bands) to grab old school FP. Just trying to plan and understand DLP FP system. Any info would help.

Does DLP offer PP+? I liked it and have used it or PP on both trips. Won't have internet access. Wondering if it is similar to WDW, where have card and they scan card or Magic Band. Than when you get home, you look at all the pics, edit them and order/download copies.

Any info or tips would be greatly appreciated. As lots to plan, as the DLP is just the end of a 24 day trip to Italy and Paris.

I don't use FP much at DLP as I normaly go during the off season when were are no queues for the rides. When I have used it you have to return during the times printed on the ticket. More recently I have been using the VIP Fastpass which have no restrictions.

PhotoPass+ has launched at DLP, you get a photocard and a landyard, plus two smaller photocards. Just hand these to the photographers and they will scan the card and your photos will appear on your account. You need to register your card on-line or use the smartphone app, which will alow you to scan ride photos on the monitors near the photo booths. You can then view your photos on your phone and downloaded them.

If you don't have a smartphone with you, you can hand over your photocard to the CM in the ride photo booth who will upload your photo to your account.

Your photos will then stay on your photcard+ account for one year. Its costs 50Euros and you can either download and print your photos at home. Or Disney will do this for you and they can be printed on a number of things like photo books, t-shirts and mugs for an extra charge.

Question, if its vaild for a year, can I use the same card on my October AND march trips??

It's the photos that are stored on your Photocard+ account for a year. The cards are only valid for a few weeks. They have an expiry date printed on them.

Thank you for all of the helpful information JonJo, really appreciate it!

One question - with regards to scanning your card on ride photos, can this be done an unlimited number of times during the trip? Even a short time apart? What I mean by that is, if you went with a group of friends/family on a ride such a buzz, could I go through and scan all of our individual photos from the ride? Or can you only scan one photo per ride? Because for example if 6 people went on Buzz, there would be 3 different photos (assuming everyone did the ride in two's and not solo). So would you be able to scan all three of these ride photos one after the other?

Hopefully this makes sense! Sorry for the complicated question :rotfl:

Thats a complicated one.

Yes I belive you can. But you can only scan the card once per ride photo that is stored on the system at that time. If they are all different photos like on Buzz then they can all be scanned and added to your Photocard+ account. If you want the same photo on two accounts that can't be done as only one scaned photo can be allocated to a Photocard+ account, but there is nothing to stop you downloading that photo and sending it on to your friend. But if you used the App on a smartphone you can scan the barcode of any picture on the screens you see at the end of a ride and upload those to your account.

A word of warning, with photos taken by a photographer, that photo can only been scanned once and sent to one Photocard+ account. If there are two of you, both with a Photocard+ make sure you remember who's account the photo went on to. We had great fun tracking down a photo taken on the Fan Press Day by one of the offical photographers. The group photo was taken and one of the Dutch fans got to the photographer first so the photo was uploaded to his account. It took us about a week to work out who of the 50 or so of us had it so it could then be shared around Twitter and Facebook between us all.

I only had the card for two days during my visit but I tried to test it as best as i could and it all seemed to work OK. Photos taken at a hotel Meet 'n' Great were appearing on my smartphone within 10 mins of them being taken. Ride photos about 20 mins and Meet 'n' Greets in the park about 30 mins. The longest was for the Spider-Man meet and great which appeared about 2 hours after having the photo take. I guess this was because they play around with the photo and add the newspaper boarder around it for you and this has to be done manualy.

Ah right, that's great to hear. Thanks again for all of the detailed information, really appreciate it :thumbsup2

Luckily our trip isn't till December so I have a while to read everyone's experiences of it before then and hopefully fully understand it before I go!

Thanks again Jonjo :goodvibes

Thanks Jonjo!

Can you pre purchase a photo package that gets u all your photos for a set rate, I'm fine with digital downloads?

Another question about pp+, I don't have any 3G whilst abroad so would gettingn the card scanned be only way or can I scan the ride photos with the app and then use the wifi at the hotel for linking? My only worry being this could be hours later.
I appreciate it's not been fully live yet, but Jonjo you seem to of had a good play with it.
Thanks

The PhotoPass+ does exactly that, you just pay once for the pack €50 and that includes all your ride and Meet 'n' Greet photos.

You can then download them from the website or smartphone App and your then able to print them at home, use the on-line Disney Fujifilm print service or send them to another photo print provider to get them printed.

Yes getting the card scanned will be the only way to do this if you don't have 3G switched on.

The photo will then be automatically paired to your account and will appear in the App the next time you sync the smartphone App.

Thank you so much, I just wanted to check. In which case might ask OH to do the app as they get data included in Europe for small charge. Unless of course you can have the app on two phones linked to one card?
Can't wait to get it added on to booking!

One the card has been registered to your account, you can login from a number of devices. I registered my PhotoPass+ card at Hotel New York using the hotels wi-fi and then I was able to log into the account using the App on my iPhone and also on my Android tablet using ther PhotoPass+ website on via the Android App at the same time to view the photos that had been taken at the HNY Meet 'n' Greet that had been scanned to the account.

I found no problem having two devices logged into the same account at the same time.

I used it on a test weekend, when there were only about 500 cards issued and around 50 in hard core use over the weekend. I imagin as the system becomes busy there will be longer time laggs in photos appearing in the App.

If you have 3G enabled, you can also upload photos you have taken on your smartphone to the App too.

I found geting a 3G signal a bit of a hit or miss around the park (I'm on Vodaphone) but I found good spots by the top of Main Street U.S.A. by the hub, in the garden at Phantom Manor, and by Dumbo in Fantasyland.

I'm going to buy a Photopass+ pack again in October and give it a propper real world test, scan every ride photo and go around the hotels one morning for Meet 'n' Greet photos as it will be our last opportunity to do this before the characters are withdrawn from the hotels in November.

That's what I'm thinking, we've a little character hunter in the making, so meet and greets which we normally avoid will be getting lots of hits! That's great about several devices, makes me worry less.
Looking forward to September, just hope I can add to my booking for the bargain price!
