I understand, from reading the boards, that it's a must for many people! Should I put this on our must do list? We (DH and I) are on the QSDP, but will pay OOP for TS restaurants.

I have a (pre-paid) reservation for CRT. I plan on making dinner ressies for Spoodles, and will add CM if I'm advised that CM is a must do. Thanks!

Chef Mickeys was fun (and we'd do it again), but for us....the "must do's" would be Ohana's breakfast at the Poly and Crystal Palace for dinner. Both were far better experiences overall, IMHO, then Chef Mickeys.

That said, we enjoyed Chef Mickeys very much, and it was great seeing the Fab 5 all in one place without having to wait in lines at the parks. :thumbsup2

We've had dinner there and found the food was not very good.
We were there for Free Dining and so glad we were because
I would have really been mad if I had to pay OOP for the
poor quality food. The Restaurant is very noisy also.
If I were you I would try the newest restaurant at Contempary
"The Wave" or "Kona" at the POLY.

I wouldn't bother if you don't have kids with you. The characters are cute but the food isn't that good.

I have been to many of the character breakfasts (cape may, restauratosaurs at AK, CRT, chef mickey's) as well as garden grill at epcot. I think Chef Mickey's is the best for breakfast (though CRT is really special) without a doubt--the food at breakfast is great.

It's a "must do" for us because of our kids. Without kids I would spend the money somewhere else. We love Teppan Edo and Ohana. Also ate at California Grill pre kids and really enjoyed it.

I would do it if you have kids because it's the only place you'll get Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Pluto all together! But, if you don't care either way to dine with characters, know that yes, it's very loud in there (the monorail runs right through the resort. I haven't been for dinner in a while so I cannot comment on food quality. I do remember having a terrific time though.

DH loved CM for breakfast. I like it at any time and the selection is fantastic. Since you are paying OOP you might really enjoy a nice sit down breakfast one morning on your trip and is much less costly than dinner. Have a wonderful time.

Absolutely do CM's breakfast.........If I were you, I would avoid Ohana for Bfast....We ate there it was horrible...Our waitress was horrible, she was not helpful or attentive, and when you have family style thats a must....She skipped us on waffles, and was very slow...CM's was great and always is...Its good food and a fun experience.....

Definately do Chef Mickey's it's the best Disney Resturant to get that Disney Experience.:worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

I think Chef Mickey's is alright, but if it's just DH and you, I'd do a signature restaurant that's romantic to see the "other side" of Disney.

You'll already get the Disney magic from CRT and from the parks.

My recommendation would be Jiko. This is an absolute must-do for DH and me. We walk around the property of AKL watching the animals for a while first, then we settle in for some amazing African wines, good service, a romantic atmosphere, and great food!

Only you can decide if the menu suits your taste, and if it is an experience that you want.

When my ex and I went, it was an experience that we wanted, even tho it was just the two of us.

read up on the menus and decide if it is something that interests you.

enjoy!

Thank you all so much for your input! I'm still deciding at this time. You have all been so very helpful. I really appreciate your time! :cool1:

We did CM a couple of yrs ago. My kids loved it! DS age 8 DD age 6. Too old now they don't want to do it again. Makes me sad. Very loud however and even with reservation we still had about a 30 min. wait.
Good luck!

Were trying it for the frist time to. You have to be carefull when you ask for a oppion because there Is 100 diffrent oppions out there:rotfl2: .. I think It just depends on the Indevule. Some like the Buffet styl some do not and no matter the qualtiy of food Is going to change there mind. You kind of have to gauge on your owen, whos In your party, typ of eaters they are,and because It Is a chacter meal Its going to be more noisey. We love the chacter Buffets so we are going to have knothing but good things to say about It,not to say some one else will have a diffrent oppion all together on the same experince.
I did nor mean to confuess you,I hope It help some:goodvibes

for me, it is a MUST!

We did it on our 1st trip, (Me, mom, little sis and nephew) and everyone loved it.

I've gone every trip since, and it's one of 2 placeses (biergarten is the only other one) where the family insist on going back to everytime.

I've been there as a family, and as adults only and had a great time each time.

It is a must do for us. We do it every time we go and are planning to do it again we go in July. My kids are 17 and 15 and they love it. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
