First visit-need advice

We are going for our first Universal visit in August for our sons 9th bday...staying at Royal Pacific so we have EP...how long are the wait times usually for rides with an EP? I’m playing around with the idea of booking a non private VIP tour for one of the days we’re there and just wondering if it would be worth it to book that tour if we already have EP.

He REALLY wants to ride Hagrid’s and I’m thinking this might be a good way to make that happen. Anyone know how hard it’s been to ride Hagrid’s with the virtual line since the parks reopened?

The waits are minimal with EP.

For example last year the Minion ride was 100 minutes....we waited less than 15. That was one of the longest waits we had with EP on any trip last year.

Ride breakdowns aside, you won’t usually wait long. Christmas week and a Easter you may wait longer, but lines move well.

This year is an unknown. With EP we’d never bother with a VIP tour......although I’m sure you know Hagrids at the moment doesn’t have EP it has the virtual line. There are various reports on how that is working, come August it may be different.

Keep reading the updates as folks are good at posting that info.

Agree with PP - we've never waited longer than 10-15 minutes with EP, and would not spend the money on a tour if the sole reason for booking it was for short wait times. Not worth it.

I can't speak to Hagrid's, but I would suggest doing that first at park opening, arriving early. That will be our strategy in October, assuming EP for it has not been implemented by then.
