It's came up with the idea of a 4-5 day trip in late February or early March. Adults only. Don't even know where to start with a hotel. Want it to be close but nice. What are your favorites?

Also any thoughts about the timing of the trip? I'm so much more familiar with WDW and the schedule there -just don't know where to start.

Late February is Dapper days you could get a room at the Grand California for 249 or DLH for 199 I would do one of those. It's a great time to go IMO

I wanted to add I noticed your from Colorado. I am too (Severance) I just bought tickets this week on Southwest for 73 dollars Den to SNA!!

HydroGuy has a thread with links to the historical operating calendars posted on wdwinfo. That should give you a sense of what the hours were like in Feburary and March.

Middle February has President's Day Weekend (2/14-16), so I would probably try to avoid that weekend if possible. Otherwise, the later half of February and early March should be fairly similar in terms of crowds.

It's kind of the in-between period (after the Holidays, but before Spring Break), so the park is likely to have short hours, reduced entertainment, and some rides down for refurb. Going is still a lot of fun, but those are things to keep in mind.

Thanks this is helpful - TheChapman6 - we're in the Denver area - saw the great rates and decided that this would be a great opportunity.

Any thoughts about hotels?

I've been going during dapper days to get a good rate you have to book through their site but 199 for Disneyland hotel or 249 for the grand is awesome. I hate pph but ymmv. I love staying in the bubble if you are going at other times check out mouse savers for discounts they always list the current promos

How many people will be in you party? Do you intend to use the hotel facilities as much as the park? Do you have a budget?

We've stayed all over Anaheim. Our favorite onsite is GCH for sure but our second favorite is Paradise Pier (over DLH). Offsite, we like the Tropicana for basic comfortable affordable accommodations that are about as close to the park as you can get without paying GCH prices.

This past trip, we burned off some Hilton Honors points and stayed at the Embassy Suites South for the first few nights of our trip. I would stay there again too. Clean, comfortable and free full breakfast. You just have to figure parking into the budget if you do that (or a paid shuttle, for a family of 4, the parking was cheaper).

As for timing, I've only been in early March once and it happened to fall the same week as the big cheerleader competition at the convention center. I would try to avoid that if you can. There are a lot of extra packs of teenagers wandering around and it seemed more crowded than I expected for prespring break.

Watch out for cheer weekend. Usually beginning of March. Absolutely the worst.
