First Visit Button

Is that what they're called? Can you only get these at the parks? Or, can we get them at Pop Century? Are they specific to each park or is it just "WDW"?

CMs give away buttons to guests. Our DD received several from the boat captain going from GF to MK. We were the only passengers, mentioned it was her 1st trip to WDW, how excited she was, etc. Her 1st visit button is for all of WDW, not just one park. Not sure that ones exist for specific parks. The best way to get buttons is to be polite and strike up a conversatoin w/ a CM, especially when there aren't lots of other guests around or they're not in a hurry.

You should be able to get them at your resort as well as guest services at each park. The CM at the front desk at AKL insisted on giving DS5 one along with a coloring book and other things. I didn't have the heart to tell her it was his 4th time.

Not specific to parks or hotels, just a button. I saw a ton of people wearing them last trip.

They gave me one at Wilderness Lodge once so you might be able to get one at Pop. It wasn't my first visit, but it was a friend's first visit. They said, "Oh, take it, anyway. Take it!" So, fine. I took it. She wore hers. I didn't wear mine. A lot of people would ask her if it was her first visit, where she was from, how she was enjoying the parks.

Nobody gave us any sort of special anything. Nothing for free, no fastpasses, nothing. Just a lot of chit-chat. That made her happy as she's big on chit-chat with strangers. It didn't make me happy as I'm not, but got dragged into it.

Cool - thanks everyone. This will be DS8's first visit. DS15 was there once before when he was 6. Do they have a "Not my first visit but too young to remember the first so it seems like the first" button? Probably not I guess.
