AUG 8th

Plane arrived @ MCO 6:30pm, we drove parents to check in at SSR then went to WL to check in.

Whispering Canyon Cafe let us walk in with a party of 7 and not even a 5 minute wait, This was around 8:45pm on a Monday. Only reason we did not have AR is cuz you never know if plane will be delayed and we planned to take Magical Express but rented a van instead. We are from the west coast so it was really 5:45pm pacific time, we were starvin.

Lulu was great, even though she made my 15 year old daughter do a solo pony ride around the restaraunt while singing happy birthday to herself(priceless). Corn bread required a couple refills as did Shakes and Mashed patatoes. This was the mostly a quantity over quality meal as we had been without a real meal for well over 12 hours this was exactly what we needed.

There were 4 skillets at the table Ribs seamed to be the least popular. Mom had chicken pasta which she loved but could not finish cuz it was too huge. Father finished off his NY steak.

Food was mostly Buffet calibur with the cornbread, desserts and Mashed taters getting the most raves at the table. I am really glad this was the first meal of our stay cuz it would have been a let down if it followed some of the others, not that it was bad but other meals were just that good.

Kids really wanted to go back but even they were not really hungry enough to do it. I think this will be our first meal again next trip. Sorry but we were so hungry that we neglected to pull out the camera and take pictures.

Lunch at Artists Palette, SSR.

Parents had a villa, after our morning visit to MK I used up some CS credits here and they ask you if it is to go. They pack everything up nice, they make everything to order WHEN you order.
Tuesday had the chefs special of meatloaf and was the favorite of the family.
assorted sandwiches were ordered and split amongst the seven of us and all were considered VERY VERY good until we ate at Earl of Sandwich later in the trip. Desserts were great with the hugs and kisses cheasecake being the most requested.

Dining plan snacks aloud here are the regular drinks/chips thing and cookies.

Dinner at Concourse 8:40pm.
This was my personal fave of the trip, everything was at least above average. My 13 year old son(med) and father(well done) had the prime rib, I sampled the Medium and it was the best prime rib I tryed during our stay.

My Mother and Sister had the Salmon, I did not sample cuz it VANISHED.

Wife had the Penne pasta with shrimp add on and said it was good but did not finish it.

And I had the beast meal of my trip the RIB EYE.

Enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for posting.

Lovely piccies :flower:

Thanks for your review and the awesome photos. I think we're going to have to try Concourse Steakhouse!

Thanks so much for posting your reviews! Smoooooooooooooooooooooth for a first timer!!!

We will be staying at WL and I planned to eat at WC just because we will be starving and arriving after 6 p.m. if all goes well. I think this will be just the "ticket" for us also! We have been for lunch a couple of years ago and it was surprisingly good. I tend to equate theme dining with mediocre food!

Looking forward to more reviews.

Tusker house Lunch.
Got fast passes for The Safari and went into Tusker house for lunch, could have missed it cuz sign was really small and does not look like a big restaraunt from the outside. Parents liked that they had samples of all the dishes in display case right outside door.

Dad and son had the Fried Chicken sandwich, and they say it was better than any fastfood(kfc/carls) chicken sandwich they have ever had.
My wife and sister had the Salmon, not as good as salmon from Concourse the night b4 but still more than acceptable.
Mom had the veggie sandwich cuz she was not hungry, but that did not stop her from eating the whole thing.
I had trouble deciding between the Chicken sandwich and the turkey wrap, Corn chower put the Wrap over the top and I feel it was a great choice.
All desserts were good but the Carrot cake seemed to be ignored by those that ordered it, while everyone was fighting over the Cheese and Chocalate cakes. This was the best all around counter service we had this trip.

Grand Floridian Cafe Walk in for dinner 7pm(ish)
We had Hoop Dee set up but family felt quik dinner would be better to spend some more time at MK. The place seemed very empty, almost like only those turned away from "1900 Park Fare character dinner" would dine here. Enterance to "1900 Park Fare" had a huge crowd overflowing into lobby area, but the Cafe looked closed it was so empty. Turned out to be a good thing, we got our servers full attention and everything was very quik as we wanted.

Everyone at the table got one of three Entrees, many more were available but everyone wanted the same.

The Prime rib was more than acceptable but not as good as the one I sampled at Concourse the night b4. But my father acctually felt it was better, cuz he ordered WELL DONE and it was more well done than the one he tryed at concourse. I joke around with him saying it is kind of like asking for SUSHI well done. Here is the Medium.

All of the adult females ordered the Shrimp Penne Pasta and it vanished, portions were not as big as WCC but more than filled them up.

Kids had Burgers and ate most of them but ranked as least fave meal of the trip.

Desserts were acceptable but we acctually had some better ones with counter service meals.

My opinion is if you dont have AR anywhere else and you have access to the monorail dine here, but I would only do it on the dining plan. I would not pay the $160 shown on the bill for this meal, that is just for my family of four. Parents and sister had seperate bill $140(also on plan). Pretty close to our Concourse bills but not near as good.

it's nice to see the pics with the review.good job!
