First Trip

We usually go to WDW. This will be my family's first trip to Universal. I'm looking for any info I can get. We want to go in December, I'm thinking the 20th thru the 27th. Is this enough time? Where is a good place to stay? Can discount's be found for Universal?. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Its my first time to Uni too, going June1-5. This should be ample time for me, DD(11) and DH to enjoy Uni and Sea World. DD and I have been to SW once before. We stay off site, to save $$ and have always been satisfied enough. All we need is a clean bed and bathroom. Free breakfast and transportation to the parks are very helpful extras (for $50 a night inc tax). In december, will it be warm enough for your family to go on the rides that will get you wet? Being a Floridian, that wouldnt work for me

A great place to stay is at any of the three Universal Hotels. They are great places in their own right but by staying there you get front of line access on almost every ride. We have done this three times now during busy seasons and it is amazing to be able to walk right the rides.

The amount of time you have planned is more than enough. Have you thought of splitting between WDW and Universal?

Also, keep in mind that Universal gives great discounts for their 3 hotels with AAA! As low as $109/night.

Thanks for the info. We want to do Universal and Sea World this time. When we went to WDW last year the water rides were not a problem. We didn't mind getting wet. I'll have to check out the AAA. I have road service with someone else but maybe it would be worth getting AAA instead. I have an entertainment book, does anyone know about this book for discounts? What about that Loew's card??

The entertainment books tends to give the best discounts at the Universal hotels. I don't know when those rates are released, but you can always book at higher rates and rebook later if you find a better price. Fan club rates can be decent, too.
