New here to the board and have a few questions. We recently moved about 30 miles north of San Diego and decided to take the kids to Disneyland tomorrow. Is this a crazy time to go? We are trying to decide if we should go down tonight or just leave super early in the morning. Any thoughts on that? Any other tips for a last minute day trip would be great. Thanks so much!

Crowds in July can be a mixed bag. There is a lot of tourists, but less locals because SO CAL Annual Passport is blacked out for the month of July. Tomorrow is Friday so it should not be to bad. It will probably be busy, but not out of control like Christmas.

If you go tomorrow I suggest staying at home and driving in the morning. 30 miles is not that bad. The park will be open from 8am-12am. I would get there as close to 8 as possible because the morning is less busy. Head into Fantasyland as soon as you arrive because that is less busy in the morning and there is a lot kid friendly rides there. Fantasyland can get crazy later in the day. Riding Dumbo or Peter Pan's Flight first would be a wise idea because those lines fill up very fast.

Also try eating lunch around 11am and dinner at about 5pm because there will be a lot less people lining up for food. Another good time for a meal is 2:30pm-5pm
or anytime past 8pm.

Don't forget to you the fastpass system to your full advantage, oh and don't forget to have fun at the Happiest Place on Earth!!!

It is not crazy but it will be busy. If you can get there early and use Fastpasses it will make the day easier.

Drop your family off at the drop off at 7:20 at the latest. (& then go park & meet them at the turnstile)

As Shockberta mentions....definitely do Fantasyland (in the preferred order) at rope drop (& pick up a FP if possible).
