Welcome Sunbeam, :welcome:
Hopefully you will get the bug like the rest of us and it will be the 1st of many trips.
Sorry cant advise on flying concerns as I love it.

Hi Sunbeam. Ours kids were very nervous the 1st time that they flew, I got a mild sedative from the doctors the 1st time but since then they have been fine. Hope this helps and you have a wonderful and relaxing trip.

Take lots of things to keep them entertained. Gameboys, Nintendos, I-pods and the time does pass quickly. By the time you have eaten and watched some tv you would be surprised how fast the journey goes. Keep reminding them of what is at the other end. A fantasic holiday.

I don't like flying and never will but have been to Florida many many times and also have the added worry of an autistic young boy to enteratain too.

Buying Josh a portable DVD player was the best thing we ever did.

You often find kid's adapt well to the long flights, and I am sure yours will too, a great holiday awaits.

If you would like some park maps that maybe you could hide from the kid's until you are on the plane I would be glad to post out to you if pm me your address details, the thought of exciting times ahead may help them if they can see the rides and attractions they can go on.

thank you so much for all your positive comments and johnny that would be lovely of you for the offer of the maps how do i pm you to give you my address how kind you all are going to enjoy this forum x

Hi,

Just click on my name , where it is underlined and a number of options appear.

Use the 'send private message' and doube click where you will go to your pm section, put a title in the message type away your comments and then submit.

It could well be you are not set up to send pm's yet if you have just registered. Worth a try though.

You are set up, I have just sent you a pm.

You will see on the top right you now have 1 'private message', just reply to that with your address and I would be happy to post some maps out to you. :thumbsup2

Hi Johnny found what i had to do but i think my post count is to low so i wont let me send yo a pm or receive the message that you sent me

Hi Sunbeam
Congrats on booking!
I have a DD5 she loves flying and my DH is obsessed with planes! but I get a little nervous, something inside my brain just says "oi we are leaving the ground, your not in control now!"
There is so much to do on the flight to Florida that your children will be fine and on the way home your so tired, you just want to sleep and get back to your own bed.
Happy planning

we are booked for the 9th of august 2008 cant wait i l know its ages yet but so excited

as someone said, bring lots of things for the kids to do, cards, toys, coloring books, puzzle books, whatever they're into...

and bring snack foods....whatever it is that they would like to eat...

if you bring fruit, be sure to leave it on the plane when you get to america or you could face a $50,000 penalty for bringing it into the country....not a pleasant thought....

my kids have never slept on any flight we've ever been on, so don't count on them doing that...
