First trip - what to wear?

I do not wear sneakers. Don't even pack socks I take 2 pairs of good quality walking sandals. Sketchers make some good ones. Keeps, etc...no flip flops for park days.

As for clothing. My boys wear board shorts. The quicksilver type you can swim in. Hey dry fast if you get wet and are super comfy. We don't wear anything with sleeves in the summer. Tank tops only in the park. It's too hot for sleeves. And again...dry quick if we get wet on a ride or by standing in the misters ( which we do every chance we get)

There are a few vendors on Etsy that do tech shirts. However, alot of the sellers don't have the equipment to do so. You could also just get the design from a seller and then take it to local screenprint place, they should have no problems doing tech shirts, but you may be limited to the number of colors in the design. Personally wearing comfortable light weight clothing may work better at helping to minimize sweat, I find that tech shirts help to control what happens to the sweat rather than keeping me from sweating.

RE footwear, get something that works for you, and wear them well in advance of the trip. And spend time walking/standing/moving. Most people have problems because
1) They don't spend 8-10 hours on their feet walking/standing around all day. Most of our jobs involve sitting at a desk, so we aren't used to standing, never mind walking 8-10 miles in a day.
2) The shoes aren't properly broken in, and people aren't used to wearing them. I can do a several day trip in nothing but FiveFingers, which would drive most people batty after a few hours. No matter what you pick, get at least 50-75 hours of wear in them (actually putting weight on them, not wearing at a desk) and 15-30 miles of use. I would recommend wearing something that isn't affected by water. Surprise rain storms aren't out of the question, and trudging around in soaked sneakers for the rest of the day is a recipe for blisters/unhappy family. Something like Tevas, Keens (most of them), sandals, boat shoes, whatever. Something that drains easily will come in handy at least once a trip.

Kohl's carries a line of Disney kids clothes now and I got a couple of different Mickey designed moisture wicking shirts for my 7yo DS last summer.
