DAY 2 - Tuesday
We woke up at at reasonable time and I had to pinch myself that, yes, I really was in the magic! My new travel kettle fulfilled it's duties perfectly and I was able to have my coffee before talking to anyone!! (anyone who knows me, knows it's not worth trying to have a conversation with me until I have had at least one bucket of coffee
)
We made our way across to the main building where Gemma got her first autograph from Pluto. Breakfast was nice, with plenty of croissants, rolls, cereals etc which were being constantly restocked. We quickly learnt that getting a tray and patiently queuing for food is not the French custom, so we followed the crowed and pushed and shoved until we had what we wanted
Something we also learnt for future breakfast scrums was that everyone seems to dive for the food as soon as they walk in, but if you walk all the way up to the other end of the food service area, there is the same choices but with much fewer people trying to get to it!
After filling up on far too many croissants and making a couple of sneaky ham and cheese rolls, we made our way to the shuttle bus and off to the parks.
We had decided that we would start at the studios today, and ended up spending all day there.
My first ride was rock 'n roller coaster as it is Karen's all time favourite ride. I have to say that I did not enjoy this one very much, but only because no matter how hard I tried to hold my head back in the seat, it got shaken and bumped around and I had a headache for about half an hour afterwards
Next stop was the tower of terror, which I had set in my mind as my nemesis ride! After taking far to many photos of it from the ground, by the time I took my seat in the elevator, I was ready to run screaming before the ride had started. Although I spent the whole ride screaming like a teenage girl who had just spotted Justin Beiber, I absolutely LOVED it, and would find myself riding it again and again!!
The main thing I kept marvelling about was how at this time of year we did not need to queue for longer than 10 mins for anything! I was, however, amazed as I walked through at how long people must queue during peak periods, but there is attention to detail throughout and you would feel like you are already in the theme of the ride the whole time.
Gemma was also very lucky with her autographs, although there is no such thing as an orderly line waiting for them, there was not the complete chaos that I have read about on these boards!
By the time we had watched the Stars and Cars parade, been on the Cars ride, Crush's Coaster and had a look around Toystory Playland, it was time to leave the parks for the day...where had the day gone?????
We went over to the village for a look around and for what had become the "tradition" of McDonalds for dinner. A very tired 5 year old in tow, we took the shuttle bus back to the Santa Fe for a bath and early night.
DAY 3 - Wednesday
We woke up to the first bit of heavy rain this morning so we decided that this would be the best morning to visit the Vallee shopping centre. After another enjoyable breakfast we made use of the EMH in the main park before we took the bus to the Vallee. We had found out in advance that if we took our pass that proved we were staying in a Disney hotel, then we could use the bus that acts as a shuttle for the partner hotels in Val de Europe for free
Karen and Jessica wanted to go and look in the fashion outlets but I knew Gemma would not last 2 minutes doing that so we went our own ways and agreed to meet up at noon. After a quick look around, Gemma found the indoor play area and was set for the duration!! We got a few lunch supplies from the enormous Auchen hypermarket then went back to the bus stop. We discovered that buses from the partner hotels are far from regular during the day and we had just missed one! Not wanting to wait 2 hours for the next one, we went over to the train station where we could get a ticket back to the parks for under 2 euros each. Gemma loved the double decker trains, so this turned out to be another highlight!
After a brief rest and recharge at the hotel we went back to the main park.
There was still so much we hadn't seen that we decided to concentrate on Fantasyland for the couple of hours that we had left today.
We were all so tired that we could barely keep our eyes open on the way back to the Santa Fe, so after booking the Character Tea Party for the next day with reception we all ended up in bed, with me the last into bed at 9pm!!!
And NO, the smile still hadn't left my face!!!

I hate it but will give it another try on our next trip and I will try to be brave in front of my 2 ds
