First trip to Paris

I plan on staying on site. Either Newport bay or the Sequoia. The Sequoia seems very similar to the Grand Californian, which we've only stayed at one due to being outrageous in price. Do people have a general preference between the two hotels?

I have stayed at Sequoia Lodge and last year had a wonder around The Grand Califorian lobby area and the two hotels are very simialr. I would choose Sequoia Lodge over Newport Bay purely based on location. Sequoia Lodge is halfway down Lake Disney, Newport Bay is at the far end of Lake Disney. At the end of a long day in the park, having to walk all the way down Lake Disney to just get to the Newport Bay Hotel would not be for me. Yes there are buses too, but when you walk you go through Disney Village, the buses go around the edge of the property. Also dont like the scramble for the buses at the end of the day.

I stayed at the Sequoia and we really liked it. We didn't pay for the Golden Forest (or whatever it is called) but we did stay in the main building. We also got lucky and got a balcony, many rooms do not have a balcony. I picked Sequoia because it did remind me of Wilderness Lodge and Grand Californian. Newport was out because of all the construction at the time. Anyway, the rooms were nice and the grounds were calming. I would stay there again. Oh, and I also ruled out the New York because it just looked bad in pictures, it didn't look much better in person either. If I went again and couldn't afford the Disneyland Hotel, I would pick Sequoia.
