We are spontaniously heading down to WDW May 1. We are only staying for 2 nights. We thought we might introduce our Dd2 to the world on our way to visit my MiL. This is our first trip to FW. We will be staying in our pop up. I have not made my reservations. Should I call or do it on line? We will make it there by early dinner on the first. What should we do the first night that is 2 year old friendly? All suggestions are welcome. Thank you!! Oh, which camping loop for pop ups is the best? Really. What do I need to know?

I would call instead of making an on-line. Hopefully you can get in. Make sure you get your confirmation #. Can't say much about which loop is best for you, you may not have a choice at this late date. We always need a preferred pet loop cause our pups go and we like to have the cable tv in our motorhome. Just part of the Disney experience for us.

Definitely (with a 2 year old) take a stroller with you.

But a MUST DO for a 2 year old is Magic Kingdom. All the other parks can wait til the child is older, but Magic Kingdom has all the magic for a little one. Make sure you do "It's a Small World," "Peter Pan," "Winnie the Pooh," "Mickey's Philharmagic," and in Tomorrowland "Buzz's Spaceranger Spin."

Have a great time!!!

39 Days, 18 Hours and 46 Minutes til we're back at Fort Wilderness and Star Wars Weekend!! :woohoo:

You might try the campfire program with Chip & Dale.

If for some reason all the sites are booked, make sure you start calling again five days before you go. That is the cancellation deadline. I have found reservations in FW in hard to book times doing it that way. Sometimes you spend a while calling, but it is worth it. I have a 2 year old and he loves MK and AK the best.

Our first trip to FW our daughter was 3. It was pure magic for her. I left here a post card and a little Mickey Mouse figure on the table in the pop up from Mickey Mouse, she was thrilled. She loved Chip & Dale at the campfire and seeing all the characters at the Magic Kingdom. We camped in the 2000 loop (the one designated for partial hook ups). It was great, large sites but a little farther to walk to the pool. She also loved Spectromagic (the night time parade in the Magic Kingdom) but I don't think it runs every night. The Electric light parade that runs past FW is about 9:45 pm, a little late for a 2 year old but our daughter loves it. You will love camping with your pop up at FW, it spoils you.
Have a great trip.
Tom

I am so excited. I booked today with no problems. This is a really spontanious trip. We are trying to decide on one or two days at the parks. Magic Kingdom is a must of course. We think we are going to go to Animal Kingdom the other. I know thiis trip is about my daughter, but EE is calling my name. Thanks for the help. Feel free to post any suggestions. We wont be leaving until the first of May. :cheer2:
