Hi everyone, We have been to WDW many times but this is first visit being planned to DLR!!! Very excited.

I was wondering when I should book Disneyland hotel and airfare?

I have always travelled low season to WDW but this year have to travel in July...any help would be gratefully accepted....

We are flying from Toronto Canada and the dates are July 17 to July 28. we are planning to stay at the Disneyland Hotel for 4 nights, then the Hilton at Universal for 3 days and do hollywood tourist stuff and Universal studios, then 4 nights in San Diego and fly home from there.

Any suggestions on transportation would be great too as I wont drive ( rural driver from boonies lol)

Thanks!:flower3:

Airline tickets are tricky consider you might try tracking the prices and right after Christmas should be about right, but if oil gets cheap, which is hard to predict, it will be better then.
Consider flying into LAX, LGB, SNA, ONT and SAN. Perhaps one ways if you end in SD.

Hotel doesn't matter as much since you can book and cancel if a special comes out for most properties.

You should look at the 2012 Socal citypass and thier Hollywood Citypass for some savings.

Also make the days you travel the weekends, because DL, US, beaches and everything is busiest then.

For travel you will really need a rental car. Taxis, grayhound and trains will complicate things and get expensive. But a rental is not somethig you need in DLR or SD the whole time, so you may just rent in the middle if you layout your trip right.

Thanks skiingfast for info and links much appreciated! I will have to take train from Hollywood to San Diego but that seems fairly straightforward I think....

Shuttles etc I am reading about on the dis and getting lots of info...

Thanks for airfare info I usually tend to book too soon and then prices drop! But I am always scared they will get higher! I guess airfare is always a gamble. I did subscribe to some airfare watch sites...
