Im travelling from UK to DLP in November for our first ever trip to Disney. There will be just myself and my 4 year old son.
We are travelling via eurostar / train all the way!

We arrive in DLP at 5pm.
When we arrive, I assume I will need to go straight to the hotel to be able to get park tickets / check in etc.
What time and where are the fireworks and bonfire?

When we go into the parks the following days, I see it says no food to be taken in. Is it really strict with this? My son drinks alot and eats very little, but often. Im worried about the lunch time arrangements with son in the parks.
If food isnt allowed in, Can I leave a bag at the gates? If so whats the cost?

On our last day, we are catching the late train home. Does anyone know the cost of leaving the bags at the train station (or would it be just as easy at the hotel)

Any advice on Single parent travelling and visiting Disney alone would be great too!

Thanks in advance!

yes, you'll get your park tickets, park programme, get to choose your breakfast slots or ask if breakfast in the park is available instead etc, when you check in at your hotel. If you arrive at 5pm you might be really tired if you've been travelling all day, and the park closes at 7pm anyway that evening.

the fireworks are over the lake, near the Village area, at 9pm. Just ask anyone you see when you are there, they'll be able to direct you to the lake. Wrap up very warm and get there early to get a good spot to see everything (we'll be there that evening too :goodvibes)

DLP are not strict at all with taking your own food and soft drinks into the parks, just no glass bottles. Its fine, no-one bats an eye and no-one will stop you or question you regarding food in your bags.

the easiest way of doing this is to ask at your hotel reception - there is usually a sign on the desk offering the service for 11 euros - all your luggage is taken to the Disney Express desk at the train station for you so you can enjoy your full day in the park before getting the Eurostar home.

My DD was 5 the first time we went to DLP - just go at your child's pace, it will be very quiet when you are there as its midweek low season, so you shouldn't have to plan your days very much. Have a look on the official Disneyland Paris website for the park programme (its not on for your dates yet, but you'll get a rough idea of whats on etc) and see what takes your fancy. When you arrive, its the first week of Christmas season too, so Santa will be at DLP .

Hi Elaine, Are the fireworks comfirmed for 9pm? Will book restaurant if so!

Welcome to the boards hanksy
Im there from November 7th too :goodvibes

I would just unpack and eat the first night and not try to get much done so that you can get a good spot for the fireworks. Maybe have a wander into the park for a look at the Castle and then have a bit to eat. When you walk thru Disney Village (at the gates to DLP and WDS) you will come to the Lake at the top of Disney Village and its here the fireworks are. Near Sequioa Lodge or Hotel New York are meant to be good areas to watch.

The lockers in MLV train station are about €7.50 or perhaps €9.50 and very handy. The luggage area is upstairs.

As regards bringing food in, a few people take extra bits and bobs from the breakfast buffet in the mornings to tide their little ones over. This may be a good idea for your son if he grazes over the day as opposed to eating 3 big meals, so id say bring a sandwich bag with you. You could get a couple of small rolls, ham, cheese, butter and make up a couple of small sandwichs for your son. You could also bring a couple of the yoghurts or croissants from the breakfast buffet too. Which hotel are you staying at?

I'm just going on previous years bonfire fireworks kizzabel, I9 believe they've started at 9pm up til now anyway :).

Are there fireworks every night or just on certain days? If it is just certain days where can I find out which ones? Thanks!

they are only on certain days at DLP - they are every night from around Bastille Day 14th July to the end of August each year, plus on St Davids Day and St Patricks Day in March, then for bonfire nights in early November, then nothing until New Years Eve.

Thanks for all your replys.

We are staying in Hotel Cheynee as im on a tight budget.

I think when we arrive, both me and son will be on such a high that we will want to go straight into the park to see something! I see that some rides shut the day after we arrive (probably to set up for xmas) and wondered if to do those rides in the 2 hours we arrive.

Im considering paying for Disney express, where they take case upto the hotel and then give me my park tickets then. Instead of going up to the hotel to check in first.

If I do the disney express, how late can be check in? Thinking of going to hotel at 7pm and back to the village for 8.30ish.

Also considering booking a character meal, any recommendations.

Thanks

I don't often recommend Disney Express, but for you I think it would be worth it, as you are just one adult travelling (kids are free).

You can check in to collect your room key and luggage etc as late as 10pm (the luggage stores close then at the onsite hotels), so checking in after the park closes on your first evening after 7pm would work out fine for you. Its only 10 minutes or so stroll from the Cheyenne to the lakeside for the fireworks.
