First trip to DL where do I start?

We have been to WDW 2 times and loved it. But would love to try DL. This trip would be DH and I only no kids this time it will be for our 10th anni.
Questions are where should we stay, what is a good place to eat? Someone with DL experience please help. Dont want to spend a fortune . Also is there ME from airport? Are there perks to stay at a Disney hotel or not?

Check out Hydroguy's Guide to DL for WDW vets...it's at the top of this page in the link FAQ's...that whole post has lots of valuable information.

YOu'll have a great time! Someone else will have to help with food choices as we are not eating fancy this trip so I have not researched that.

Best Western Park Place Inn(the one right across from the maingates)

Desert Inn and Suites

There are more that people stay at and like, but these ones get mentioned the most and most people who stay there, recommend them.
