First Trip to DL - solo (COMPLETE) new link p.43

This! The Boo Boo thread moves dang fast though. :hyper:

:rotfl2: Do it girl. Siggies look so purdy with a little color. Trust the Tag Fairy.

I can barely keep up with the ones I'm already reading, let alone a fast moving one!

And I agree with everyone that the proximity of everything in Fantasyland being so close together really adds to the magic. The Teacup lanterns at dusk are one of my favorite spots in the park. :cloud9:

Dare I say that I like DLs FL better than MKs?

Love the parks at night, they're even more magical

Pam the sleigh round sounds lovely and how nice Remy for Mothers day! The little Meridan bar where you sit and wait to be called is really nice on The Dream I imagine the same for The Fantasy. It serves both Palo and Remy as the name suggests! We were waiting for Palo but others for Remy when we went in September.

I'm so glad I thought to call about the sleigh ride. I was on hold for a while but it was worth it. Should be a very special evening.

We had to wait in Meridian for Palo, it was very nice. None of my photos turned out though :( I almost spilled the beans about Remy when we were talking about the trip but I bit my tongue!

We have been to DL but a long time ago before they built the GC park. Just had MK then. We went with my Mum and Dad on a road trip of Cali and as much as Jo and I wanted to see everything in MK Dad was flagging in the heat. We only had one day assigned so we didn't get to see much. Very frustrating! But as Arnie says ...we will be back...

Ahhh, yes, you must get back :)

Just had to look at those FL pictures again. The detail! Did you get photopass+ ? I just loved those photobooks you could buy. You pictures would look lovely in one of those :-)

I'm so glad you enjoyed them :goodvibes

No, I never get the photopass, I really don't like having my picture taken.

Pam have you seen once upon a time in Wonderland? If so it good? Was it a spin off?

I wonder what happened to Toad at WDW? What a shame! It looks like a fun ride :-(

No I haven't, that's a brand new show, I'm sure it's a spin off. I'm also sure I'll but the box set when it's available.

They took out Toad to make room for Pooh at WDW. Why they can't just add new rides instead of replacing them is beyond me. I thought they have plenty of space.

I think the Fantasyland area is so much more quaint at Disneyland. Especially when it's empty, you feel like you're in a little village.

Dang can't believe you made it to Pooh with minutes to spare. I was thinking of the walk from Fantasyland to Critter Country and remembered how long that walk was!

I wasn't sure if I could make it but I really wanted to try. There was a CM at the front of Pooh probably waiting to close it right at 7:00.

yes they could easily have squeezed in Pooh. They managed a whole expansion to FL! Maybe Toad fell out of favour with one of execs. Said the wrong thing at a board meeting....

Day 4 of vacation:

Today’s plan was just to enjoy the parks at my leisure and hopefully see WoC. The parks closed at 10:00 that evening so I forced myself to sleep as long as possible so I could stay up.

I snoozed until 8:30 and finally forced myself out of bed. I was definitely losing my steam, the previous mornings I’d woken before 7:00 and couldn’t go back to sleep despite trying. I slowly got ready, caught up in the journal and Passporter, had some fruit for breakfast and made my way out at 10:20.

I couldn’t help taking more pictures of the pool on the way to the DCA entrance.

They had towels available for everyone to use, there were several bins around the pools.

Cool looking slide

Even the walkways were gorgeous, I thought so anyway.

Now you might remember on the first morning they redirected us to the main entrance of DCA because there were so many people in line. Well, there weren’t many of us in line, but the computers were down and they advised us to walk to the main entrance again. I thought about it for a moment and decided to stay put. My main thought was for my feet. I was in no hurry and I was heading to Paradise Pier. I really didn’t want to walk all the way to the main entrance and then back again to PP. A few other people decided to wait as well and we were through in about 20 minutes.

You know I took pictures along the way.

I didn’t do this ride this trip

They have this cute area for little adventurers. I wanted to go in to take a look but I never made it.

The rides I had in mind were the Jumpin Jellyfish and Mickey’s Fun Wheel.

This was down while I was there that morning so I didn’t get to ride

Not many people around PP this morning

No wait for Jumpin Jellyfish. It was a cute ride, but not very long. You only go up and down maybe two times and then it’s done.

Right across the way was Goofy’s Sky School with no wait so I headed over. I will NEVER do this again. It had such sharp turns I felt totally nauseous afterwards.

I didn’t think going to Mickey’s Fun Wheel was a good idea feeling nauseous, and I wasn’t sure if I felt that way because I didn’t have much of a breakfast so I went to get some sustenance at this lovely establishment.

I had a cheddar cheese dog and saved the chips for later

It’s basically a big piece of cheese covered in dough and fried. Absolutely delicious! It was very fresh and seemed like it was just made.

After enjoying my treat I headed off for more exploring.

What is that orb doing in my photo?

My destination!

It seemed like a much longer wait than 15 minutes but it probably wasn’t. Somebody behind me had such bad breath it was hard to get away from.

I was expecting huge drops and lots of swinging with the way things looked from below

It was finally my turn!

My carriage

I had to share it with three strangers, one solo girl, and two boys…

I was not very pleased, it seemed like the ride was very short and no huge drops or lots of swinging was done. I probably won’t return, it just wasn’t very exciting.

I decided to head to Carsland so made my way out of PP. I happened upon a cute little water show that maestro Goofy was doing.

As I passed the Little Mermaid I figured why not stop in for a ride.

It was exactly the same as in WDW and most of my pictures didn’t turn out so I won’t bother sharing.

I stopped in a little shop by The Little Mermaid but nothing caught my eye so I continued on my way.

On the way to Carsland I saw the sign for this place and couldn’t help but stop in for a treat.

No wait

It is a lot different than the one I’m used to but a lot nicer of a lay out.

What did I get you ask? Why a huge warm chocolate chip cookie of course!

I found a side entrance to Carsland which I thought was quite clever, but apparently I missed a gorgeous entrance near RSR. I’ll have to find that one next time.

I decided to try this one again, the time I tried before there was quite a bit of a line. I’m glad I waited because it was a walk on.

I chose my tractor

And a nice CM saw me with my camera and offered to take my photo. I thought that was so nice!

I absolutely loved it!!! I was laughing the whole time. The tractors change tracks and go throughout the whole yard, flinging you side to side the whole way. So much fun!

I headed out to take more photos of Carsland

I took the same picture the first day but I felt sad for this cute little one out here all alone.

I was not hungry at all or would have grabbed something in here.

Each cone sells something different

I never got on this ride

I was just going to head out at this point but I had a last minute change of heart and decided to jump on RSR since the single rider line said 5 minutes. It was more like 15 but that was still great.

No pictures on the ride, sorry everyone. The ride was just as fun as before and this time I went to the left inside, with Luigi I think? It was cool to see the differences.

I headed over to Bugsland via a shortcut next to Luigi’s tire ride. Have I mentioned how clever I feel when I find these things. It’s a small amusing satisfaction.

I thought it was too cute that the bugs were hiding in the bushes

I know I showed some pictures earlier in the trip but here are a few more for your enjoyment.

I did not do the bumper bugs but they looked cute

I did however go on this

Absolutely loved these details!

So basically Heimlich is taking you around showing you all the different foods he’s been eating. I was laughing at each twist and turn; he certainly ate a lot of stuff!

And he LOVES candy corn!

Cute ride, it had me laughing with Heimlich’s accent talking about food.

This looked nice for a hot day.

Then I headed out because none of the other rides interested me. Great area for the little ones though. I went in search of the Monster’s Inc. Ride.

I have yet to see this movie. I figured I was going to buy it anyway, so why spend the extra money in the theater if I was going to buy the DVD. Now that I'm having to wait I wish I had seen it in the theater...

Loved this!

And the bicycles were too cute!

I quickly found the ride

In less than five minutes I was on the streets of Monstropolis. Can I tell you how much I love this ride! These pictures are horrible but it gives you an idea.

She talked to ME! She pointed to me and said something specifically to ME! I think it was ‘at least get my good side’ HA!!! LOVED IT! Went right back on I loved it so much.

These were in the line area

This is so gross

This one was better, and she talked to me AGAIN! I can’t remember what she said the second time though.

I wish they had that ride at WDW, definitely one of my favorites for sure.

Then I went to see the zoetrope again. Here’s a recycled picture in case you forgot what it was. Definitely go see this when you’re at DCA.

After that it was 2:00 and I needed a break. I headed back to the room with the idea of sitting by the pool for a little while.

yes they could easily have squeezed in Pooh. They managed a whole expansion to FL! Maybe Toad fell out of favour with one of execs. Said the wrong thing at a board meeting....

He very well might have! He's a persnickety kind of guy that Toad. I wish they'd just left all the old rides in and added new ones. You'd think it would be better with crowd control, more places for guests to be.

That was a pretty action packed day. You did all kinds of stuff I've never even done. I haven't been on Jumpin Jellyfish, or any of the rides at Bugsland. I still haven't even gone into Ghiradelli. The next time we stay overnight we plan on going early on our check in day to try the Chili Verde cone Queso, and I think we're going to visit the Corn Dog Palace. Wasn't that cheese dog awesome??????

I almost need a break after reading about your day! :lmao:

I HAD to see Monster's U in the theater, but we hadn't seen a movie in the theater for a couple years, so I made a big point to see that one. We're going to see a bunch of movies in the theater this Fall/Winter because Disney has so many great ones coming out.

I wish I was going to relax in the pool/Jacuzzi right now!

I'm scared to go anywhere near that one. That's where you all got your cows right?

Actually that was about 4-5 threads back, but it was where Brandi and Kimmar got their cows, the rest of us were Boo Boos. There are still a ton of Boo Boos out there waiting to get new tags, but it doesn't always move that fast, it just depends on whether or not people have time on their hands. I haven't been over there for quite a few days.

Very frustrating! But as Arnie says ...we will be back...

You DEFINITELY need to come back! We will show you a great time in California if you come here. Plus you can see the Tiki Bar house! :thumbsup2

I can barely keep up with the ones I'm already reading, let alone a fast moving one!

It's mostly just chatter, no real need to keep up. Doesn't even make as much sense as the AKL no FAQ thread!

Nice updates and how cool to find the short cuts between the areas.

I was pleasantly surprised by how fun Mater's JJ was. Completely unexpected.

Didn't you like the swinging gondola???

It's been at least 6 years since i've been on the Jumpin' Jellyfish. And now you reminded me why it's been so long.

:lmao: My DM absolutely loves Goofy's Sky School! She thinks it is one of the best rides along with Splash Mountain.

About Mickey's Funwheel of Death - you're probably the only person I know to say that there wasn't enough swinging. I don't know many people that like that ride. I'm all for rides and i'll go on that one if someone wants to, but I would never choose it for myself:scared1:

Ugh, that cookie:faint:

Great idea on hopping on RSR. Now you got to experience both sides!

I think Heimlich's train is so adorable. Did you happen to take a big whiff towards the middle-end?!

That's great that you were able to practically walk on to the Monsters Inc ride twice. :yay: Such a cute little ride.

You did so much this day, my goodness!

I kept thinking I should get up for some mustard but didn't want to stop eating the cheese dog

Jumpin Jellyfish was cute but I wouldn't race to do it again, it was just so short!

You must get to Ghirardelli and try those cookies!

I regret not trying anything at Cozy Cones. So many things to eat and just not enough time. Looking forward to all the things I missed.

I almost need a break after reading about your day! :lmao:

:) There's still half a day left, all that was only in 3 hours. One reason I love low season.

I HAD to see Monster's U in the theater, but we hadn't seen a movie in the theater for a couple years, so I made a big point to see that one. We're going to see a bunch of movies in the theater this Fall/Winter because Disney has so many great ones coming out.

I really regret not seeing it. I won't make that mistake again. I saw a preview for the Mary Poppins movie, it looks really good.

I wish I was going to relax in the pool/Jacuzzi right now!

::yes:: me too!

4-5 threads back! No way I could keep up. I like keeping up with the chatter.

Nice updates and how cool to find the short cuts between the areas.

It's the little things that make me happy :)

I was pleasantly surprised by how fun Mater's JJ was. Completely unexpected.

Me too, I thought it was great!

Didn't you like the swinging gondola???

I wanted more swinging, I thought there would be big drops and lots of swinging but there wasn't :( I also didn't like sharing my car.

It's been at least 6 years since i've been on the Jumpin' Jellyfish. And now you reminded me why it's been so long.

 I won't race to do it again but it was nice and calm.

:lmao: My DM absolutely loves Goofy's Sky School! She thinks it is one of the best rides along with Splash Mountain.

Oh my goodness! I felt like my equilibrium was flung loose on those turns! It was too much. Never ever again.

About Mickey's Funwheel of Death - you're probably the only person I know to say that there wasn't enough swinging. I don't know many people that like that ride. I'm all for rides and i'll go on that one if someone wants to, but I would never choose it for myself:scared1:

I was expecting severe drops and lots and lots of swinging. There were only two nice swings and then it was over :( I wanted more!

Ugh, that cookie:faint:

Oh me oh my, those cookies are so good! popcorn::

Great idea on hopping on RSR. Now you got to experience both sides!

It's a really cool ride, I like inside better than the race part but that part is fun too.

I think Heimlich's train is so adorable. Did you happen to take a big whiff towards the middle-end?!

No I didn't, what smell is it? :) I just love his accent, everything he says makes me happy.

That's great that you were able to practically walk on to the Monsters Inc ride twice. :yay: Such a cute little ride.

All the wait times were so awesome, except for the Fun Wheel. I just loved Monster's Inc. couldn't get over the awesome details. It felt like I was in the movie.

You did so much this day, my goodness!

That was only in three hours, many more hours left in the day for more fun. :)

Heimlich's Chew Chew is still one of Chloe's favorites and we ride it almost every trip. I love the smells and his accent of. Bug'sLand is just so clever. Disney nailed it, every detail is darling. If you ever get the chance to visit during the winter holidays DO IT! It's so cute with the Christmas lights and decorations. So much fun.

I still haven't been to Ghiradelli at either DCA or WDW.

I love the GCV pool. The slide is pretty fun too. We have spent many a relaxing afternoon there. Now I want chicken nachos from Whotewater Snacks and a Mai Tai. I swear it must be a Pavlovian response because every time I see GCV pool pics I want WWS. :rotfl:

Monsters Inc. is such a cute ride, so well themed. We loved both movies. We saw Monsters U twice in the theaters. Rarely will I see something twice in the theater.

No action on Mickey's Funwheel? :faint: The first we went on it it felt like we were swung all over. I haven't done a swinging car since. :crazy2:

Great update Pam. :thumbsup2
