Dh and I will going to WDW in a couple of weeks for a convention. We are staying at the Disney Coronado Springs. As part of the convention, they are offering special passes that will allow us to go to 2 different parks on 2 different days (1 park per day) and only after 2 pm. We like to ride rides, especially roller coaster type rides but enjoy just about anything. Which 2 parks would you recommend for us to go to and what are the must do things?

Thanks,
Cherie

I think you HAVE to do Magic Kingdom as one - it is pure Disney, and I think you'd feel cheated if you didn't see it at least once in your life!

Epcot, especially World Showcase, is the more "adult" of the parks...but if you are looking for rides only, MGM has the big thrill rides with Tower of Terror and Rock & Roll Rollercoaster.

Tough choice!!

Another vote for Epcot. If it's just you and DH you could have a great time in the World Showcase for several hours. Take a ride on the GM test track and don't miss Soarin. If you have a strong stomach try the Mission Space ride BEFORE you eat. Also check out the park hours before you decide, if you don't enter before 2 pm Animal Kingdom may be a waste of your ticket. I think it closes around 5 in the off season.

I would pick MK and while Epcot does not have the rollercoaster thrill rides it has alot to offer, the world showcase is especially nice in the evening and will always be open till at least 9.
MGM has the rockinrollercoaster and tower of terror but usually closes earlier, 7:30 during our trip...so not the best use of a one day pass after 2.

Check your schedule and see if any of the parks offer Extra Magic Hours in the evening, this would give you an extra 3 hours.

One of those days you HAVE to go to MK. I agree with checking the times to decide what other park to go to. Epcot will probably be open later and the illuinations fireworks/light show is fantastic in addition to soar'n and test track. However, I love MGM and there you could ride ToT, RnR, Great movie ride, backstage lot tour, star tours, and see some good stunt shows. Have fun.

Welcome to the DIS, Cherie.

Just a word of warning, my first trip to WDW was a business convention too, in '98. Hoping to be making my 16th trip there this Dec. :cool1: Enjoy!!

And I do agree with above, Magic Kingdom and Epcot. :thumbsup2

I'll be at the Coronado for a convention in a few weeks too, though I'm staying several extra days and bringing my kids (and sister to watch my kids while I actually have to work, since my husband can't get off of work).

For me ... picking 2 parks I'd have to go with Magic Kingdom and Epcot. I'm picking just 3 parks and my third is Animal Kingdom.

I vote that you are already there, so pay for a couple extra days and enjoy yourself!!! There are probably some good specials out there right now, so it won't cost you too badly

It sounds like MK and Epcot are the favorites. I wish we could stay a couple extra days but we are already pawning our 3 kids off on family and friends for a week. In a few years our kids will all be old enough to enjoy WDW and we can take the whole family next time.

If you do plan on going back another time, I'd definitely hit Epcot while you are there without the kids. Not that there aren't things for kids to do there, but I would imagine you'd enjoy World Showcase more as two adults alone. Soarin' and Test Track are great rides, too!
