And I have been many times before. What are must see and do. I would really like to meet the dwarfs if they are all out a one time. Am open to all suggestion. Thanks Tina

How exciting! Your first trip to Disneyland! :)

Do not forget to ask for first time visitor buttons, for yourself and your DH.
One can find them at City Hall, at various shops, restaurants at Dl. as well as at the Disney hotels.

One can definitely enjoy their time at Disneyland, with one day. Fast passes are key, so is arriving before the park opens, and MM if you have it, and are interested in taking part in it. It would be most wonderful though, if you and your DH, could visit for 2 or three days, if for no other reason, that you will be traveling a far distance, to Ca. Also, if you are interested in visiting DCA, then one will not feel like they might be missing something, or feel rushed. Nothing worse than feeling rushed, while on vacation.

Many people like to collect their fast passes throughout the morning, to noon or so. Then if crowd levels begin to increase significantly, they will leave the park, go for a rest, or to do something else, then come back to Dl. later in the day, or early evening. Then take your fast passes, in the event that using them most definitely will be called for, during that time frame. The time stamp that is on the fast passes, is but a technicality. For one can use them well beyond that time. It just needs to be on the same day.

There are definitely differences in rides and attractions, between Dl. and WDW. I highly recommend The Enchanted Tiki Room (It is different from WDW,and how) The Matterhorn, The Pirates of the Caribbean, The Haunted Mansion, and Big Thunder Mountain Rail Road, Pirates Island, and the Indy ride.

Get a map and schedule, and plan accordingly. That is what I do, although, sometimes I am too lazy to walk over to see a show (Never too lazy though for Jose and his songster friends at The Enchanted Tiki Room ;)) he he!

There is a sticky at the top of this forum, for people that are experienced WDW visitors, who will be visiting Dl. in Ca. for the first time. Good information can be had from these various stickies, so please do check them out, when you have an opportunity to do so.

Have a wonderful flight, and visit to California and to Disneyland!

You're going to have a great time. Gisele has good advice for you.

I also recommend reading Hydroguy's tips. He has a lot of good ones, plus he has insights for those who are used to going to WDW.

I've heard you need at least 2 days for DL, but I'm sure you could do it in one. My DW and I have'nt been to DL in years, but will hopefully be making a trip in May with our 2 DD's

Rescue Pooh,

I too hope that you will be able to visit Disneyland next year. If one can plan to do so, on their birthday, then admission will be complimentary. Thanks to Disney's 2009 What Will You Celebrate promotion. Have you heard or have read about it? If not, let me know. Also, there is Disney's on line Instant Prize Sweepstakes, that began not long ago, and will run through next year. With each play, regardless of whether or not one has won an instant prize, will be entered into their drawing for a trip for four people to either DL or WDW.

Thank you I do know about fast passes and Dh and I can do MK in Flordia in a day but we know what we want to do first. We always arrive when it opens and we will stay till it closes.
We just went to Disney World in December and are going to Calif for a 50th birthday party (sisters) so DH is only giving me one day as we have other things to do there and will only be staying four days.

Our first visit as adults was a one-dayer too. Then next year one day. Then the next year, a 6 day trip and bought Annual Passports. Went back inside of 3 months for another 5 day trip. Then I did a solo weekend. Then my son's birthday trip for 5 days. Our APs expired. Then I bought another and went for a day, and one month later my guys bought new APs and we went for a 3 day visit.

And we're planning more this year (obviously, as we have to get our money's worth with their APs!).

But on that first trip, we felt we'd done quite a bit.

Just didn't know how much we would LOVE it. :)
