First trip to Disneyland Questions

Fairfield Inn is a nice motel style hotel. There are no inside corridors but the rooms are very good. I would say the rooms are on the level of Port Orleans Riverside. The walk from the hotel to the gate is about 7 minutes. Unfortunately you will encounter the outside world and possibly even bums asking for a handout.
The hotels on property are very nice. I would say most are on par with a deluxe room at WDW and you will be walking through downtown Disney each day vs. a street in Anaheim. We've done both many times and it really just comes down to preference if you want to stay in the Disney bubble.
If this is your only time you will ever be out to Disneyland then I would say stay on site. The prices to stay onsite have really gotten outrageous but maybe you can find a deal?
Disneyland is amazing and its our favorite park period. We use to be WDW vets who thought it was the end all be all to vacations but then we found Disneyland and all the other areas of California.
If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Uhh I'm in the US..now I'm really missing something! ;)
Ok, I looked it up and it looks like it's back to full price tickets for day 6. I had no idea this was a thing or I would not have spent hundreds more dollars to extend my trip....blaaaah!!

They are hoping you will just upgrade to an Annual Pass! Haha! And then, since your tickets would already be covered, they hope you will make it back in 2016 before they expire...

I bet they get lots more AP sales now that 5 is your max number of days for discounted tickets!

what do you mean by 5 is the max # of days? If we stay longer, we can't add on days for less

Sadly the max ticket they sell now is a 5 day ticket. I might be wrong but you can only get longer stay tickets if your from Australia. They will happily sell you extra days, which is what we ended up doing for our trip this past April (we had the 5 day Park Hopper and then we added 2 more days). It wasn't the most economical ways of doing things but we are from Canada and a AP just wasn't in the cards, so we just had to bite the bullet on the extra money we spent (which was worth it to us).

I will chime in..I have not stayed onsite or the other 2 you mentioned we stayed 10 days at park vue inn and it is literally across the street from the entrance they have free parking (it drives me crazy to have to pay to park) and a really good breakfast with hot foods that change every other day it too has outside corridors but we really enjoyed it and most likely unless I can find a really awesome deal somewhere else will be staying for our next trip next summer

criminal................is it not??????
It is not. It is a company offering an experience which you can accept and pay for or decline. Criminal would be if someone hacked your bank account and took the money without permission.

:cool2:

Personally, I think 4 days is perfect. We just got back today from a trip to Anaheim and did three days in the parks. We didn't even get park hoppers. We did a full day in DL, a day at the beach, a day sight seeing in LA and Hollywood, and then hit CA for a full day, and our last day in Cali was at DL again. I told DH, "Honestly, we should have gotten four days. Two full days in each park." You live, you learn. I have zero regrets over not getting a park hopper, and it saved us money. At NO point in either park did I think, "Man, I wish I could hop over to CA/DL." Our trip was amazing. Three days is wonderful, four is better. Five would blow my mind. LOL.

Also- we stayed off site. Staying in the Disney hotels doesn't make the same sense as WDW. Anytime we go to WDW, we stay on site. No question. We're planning a WDW trip in the next few years, and we will certainly stay on site. But anytime we go to DLR in the future, we'll stay off site.
