Hi everyone!
I have never been to disney and my DH was there once about 15 years ago.
We are booking our vacation and thought we would take advantage of the free dining. We wanted to go in october but the free dining is only for september. :( I am worried that it will be TOO hot to really enjoy the park. We are going for 5 nights a wednesday to monday. We also want to go to the not so scary halloween party. If we go in september it will save us about $1000 between lower room prices and free dining. I priced out the all star movie resort with an upgrade to the disney dining plan so we can do some sit down dinners as well. I am also a little worried about it being hurricane season. We were going to go the 18th to the 23rd, instead of going october 30th to november 4th. Can some one tell me what we can expect weather wise for late september? Thanks!!!

I just looked up average temp. in Sept. its around 89 degrees daytime 76 night time. That is similar to Aug., which is when we go every year. It is very hot but if you drink a lot of water and take breaks it should be fine. We never have a problem and always have a great time. The positive thing about Sept. is it is a very quiet time, there won't be long wait times for rides. That makes the hot weather even more managable. In Oct. its only about 5 degrees cooler. In my opinion The amount of savings seems worth going in Sept.

My husband and I are both teachers, so we only go in August. Yes, it's hot. But there has never been a minute when we didn't enjoy ourselves!!

It's your first trip. If you miss Halloween, it will be there for you another year. In the past 4 trips we've done as a family (and 4 or 5 before that) we've never been there for the Halloween Party (and most likely won't until retirement) and it hasn't been a problem; there's certainly enough to do for a week to keep you and your family busy.

I say you save the $1000, and put it towards next year's return trip!

As far as hurricane season: Disney is probably one of the safest places in FL in the event of a hurricane. Get trip insurance and don't sweat it.

I've been the past 3 septembers (returning this year :)) the weather is not bad at all and the line waits are great! Book your dining reservations as early as you can they book fast! The Halloween party is wonderful.... The first time we went I didn't realize everyone dressed up but now we all go in full blown costumes :) Have fun, your daughter is gonna have a blast!!!!!
