We just booked our first WDW trip (Jan.2-6), staying in the POR (Royal Rooms), we did the s/p/d as it came out better than the RO offer for us. First time using the DDP too, since we never saw the need at DLR, so this is all new! My kids (DD3 and DS6) absolutely LOVE character dining...and actually WE do too :), so we thought the DDP would defniitely be worth it for us. So, I was able to get ressies for our first day in the parks (MK on Thurs.) at CP for lunch, 2nd day will be in HS, so I booked a breakfast at Hollywood & Vine (they still love Dis Jr. shows), and then didn't make a TS ADR for Sat. because we are still trying to figure out which park we want to go to that day. We'll probably just use some of our QS meals for that day. Then, our last morning will be Sun. back in MK for CRT, which of course is 2 TS credits (so excited I was able to get an early morning ADR there!). Then we'll spend a few hours at MK before we drive home to SC.

Any thoughts? Good experiences with some of these character meals? We always went to Goofy's Kitchen in DLR or Storyteller's, both fun and pretty good food too!

Crystal Palace @ lunch will be very crowded. We enjoyed the food and the selections, but it was vry crowede.
My family of 6 really enjoys the Tusker House in AK. Not as crowded for breakfast, you get in the park before everybody else..and when you are done...no lines for whatever ride you want.

I have only tried crystal palace and it is great with good character interaction. Hope you have a great trip and glad you were able to get a CRT breakfast this late in the game.

Epcot??? Animal Kingdom?? Your first trip, and you aren't going to the two best parks?? Hopefully, you will decide to do all 4 parks. Animal Kingdom is the best! And they have a good character breakfast--Donald's Safari Breakfast!

Your statement that EP and AK are "the two best parks" is quite subjective. Those are actually my least favorite parks, after MK and DHS?..but that's just my opinion of course.

True. But---if this is their first trip, they may be getting some bad information about Epcot and Animal Kingdom, which is stopping them from making plans to go there. I just think they should know that some people prefer these parks to Magic Kingdom, so they are worth doing. :thumbsup2

Actually, I have heard good things about both :), but just trying to figure out what days we should do which park. Yes, we LOVE DL, so MK was definitely going to be our first day (just know the kids will love it), and then we decided to do HS the 2nd day, since so many of the shows and things are all favorite characters of ours. We want to at least hit 3 of the parks, but to be honest, a little overwhelmed as to what would be best to do on Saturday. We just can't swing PH this time, and since we have a limited number of days this first trip, we are trying to decide between Epcot and AK on Sat.

I appreciate the input though. I'm leaning toward Epcot for Saturday, and then we may have to do AK next trip. Still trying to figure that one out! :thumbsup2

I know, I was SHOCKED I was actually able to get a reservation at CRT that fit into our time frame...can't wait to see my DD's face! :)
