Woke up at 4am. So did Mat and the kids. Mat told us all to go back to sleep but how could we?? (It would have been 9am in the UK and we were wide awake).
So we all get up and shower, and try the Riemanns P20 sun cream that we had read rave reviews about. Its quite oily, but goes on well, but we had to wait about 20 mins after putting it on before getting dressed.
The restaurant opens at 6:30am for breakfast and we are down by 6am. Quick phone calls to UK to let them know we're arrived safely.
The breakfasts at QII are brilliant. I have never before seen a buffet style and didnt know where to start!!
Virgin have their Welcome Briefing at 8:45am and I must get my Hard Rock Cafe vouchers so we decide to attend. The place is packed. We had to endure the rep going through everything, watching videos and by 10am the kids are asleep on the tables!!
We collect our vouchers and head outside to wait for the I-Ride to take us to Seaworld. The weather is absolutely bucketing down. (So much for the P20!). Slightly depressed, thinking I havent flown over 4000 miles to be out in the rain.
The QII is in a brilliant location, with the bus stop right outside. We get to SW at about 11:30am. We chose this as our first park, as we had read that this was the easiest park to negotiate. We still ended up getting lost though!
We loved SW, no queues at all for Kraken or Journey to Atlantis. Bit of a wait for Wild Arctic. We were able to feed the dolphins and the stingrays.
The Shamu shows were outstanding. They didnt have the "Mystify" fireworks on though that was advertised in their planning DVD. They did have some sort of circus-style show though which was hilarious.
One thing worth mentioning here is the smoking areas - they are well shown on the map guides and we didnt feel like scummy outcasts at all!!
We left SW after the Shamu Rocks America show - along with everyone else in the park - and had a bit of a wait for the I-Ride back to the QII.
Dinner at Denny's, which was reasonable and tasty.
But its still raining.
