About 2 months ago we booked the Davy Crockett Ranch (2 bed premium) and tickets with Disney direct and used our Tesco vouchers to pay for Eurotunnel crossing. I have been on here ever since researching and it paid off! Thanks to my military precision we did loads and had great time :)

So, we are me (34), husband (40), Matt (11), Sam (9) and Victoria (5).

We left Suffolk early Monday morning and arrived at eurotunnel earlier than expected. It was so easy at the terminal, as we arrived the machine recognised our car from the numberplate and gave us option of an earlier train. Once selected we just drove through to line up for boarding, it couldn't have gone smoother.

Once in France the sat nav in our car took us straight to DCR doorstep and we found it surprisingly easy to drive on the french roads. Even though it was a long journey we felt eager to get to the parks once checked in and settled in our cabin.

The cabin was very comfortable and looked very new, we were in Cherokee on the right hand side as you drove round which meant the cabin doors/windows faced towards the trees so was more private than the other side of road.

We jumped back in car and drove straight to the park, must have only taken 5-10 min max. Before we knew it we were walking down Main St and could see the show on the stage in front of the castle so stopped to watch.

After the show we wandered around and found the pirate ship and the treehouse. We had a meal booked at Inventions for 7pm so got on the train near Woody's round up and this took us back to the top of main st.

It was only 6pm so we decided to have a wander around the disneyland hotel. I loved the lobby, the smell, the chandelier, the staircase and windows and general feeling about the whole place was just lovely. We had a look in the hotel shop (Victoria loved the dresses in there) and asked if we could eat earlier than our booking which they said was fine. We were seated in the room to the right of the buffet room with a huge window, but we sat just by the doorway on the right. We had a brilliant meal and met loads of characters (at least 7) and got all the autographs (apart from eyeore who has no hands to sign) :sad2:

After the meal we decided to get back to our cabin for a fairly early night as we were tired from the journey and wanted to get up for EMH!!

Once back we set a wake up call and asked Sam to answer it in the morning as we had found out it was a certain mouse who makes the call!!

Next fun packed day to follow shortly once I have put some washing on :rolleyes::rolleyes:

great trip report. can't wait for the next part. Interested to read about the Euro tunnel letting you go on the earlier train. Which Euro tunnel ticket did you buy if you don't mind me asking was it the standard, flexi or saver?

We are going via tunnel for the first time and was worried about it. It sounds very easy if your booking comes up automatically via number plate reconigition.

Hi, yes it was incredibly easy. The printout from the email confirmation says short stay saver fare and it cost £90 in tesco voucher/rewards. They told me when I booked I needed to take the card I paid with with me, but it came up welcome Mrs Asker as soon as we drove up, then gave a selection of departures and we chose one (not the time we had booked).

Although coming home we arrived an hour early and the only option given was the one we had booked but we didn't wait long. The crossing is so quick and you just drive straight off the train onto the motorway.

Good luck with your trip :)

No sorry we just realised we didn't take any pics of the actual ranch. To be honest we didn't spend much time there, only breakfast and sleeping as we only had 3/4 ish days maximum. But it was exactly as other photos as I had seen of the cabin and ranch in general.

Thanks for you info really helpful. We are hoping to get about an hours later crossing then booked so sounds like this may be ok, might give them a ring to see what they say.

There are instructions on the phone in the cabin how to do it or just press 0 for the operator and ask them to set it for you, it was very easy and the kids loved it :)
