We are traveling in December with our 1 year old son. It will be our third trip to WDW but our first at Disney Vacation Club members. In the past when we've traveled we have received a packet in the mail with our luggage tags for Disney's Magical Express and coupons for mini golf.

We're wanting to know if as DVC Members will we still get the reservation package listing where we'll be staying etc along with Magic Kingdom luggage tags that come with the info from Disney's Magical Express.

We are so excited  but we want to make sure we're prepared.

Any tips on traveling with a baby??? :)

No reservation packages, coupons, luggage tags, etc. You will still get a ME package if you signed up for it.

You'll get a confirmation letter with information on trip insurance in the mail. No luggage tags except for ME. No free golfing vouchers. Those days are over for you. ;)

;) Where are you staying if I can ask? DH and I will be at AKV 12/01-12/10. I am trying to talk DH into going ME...we will see....he likes the towncar service. :confused3 After 15 years and some months, I have decided DH is high maintenance.

FYI, trip insurance info has been discontinued. MS says that the info is available online.

We will be staying at AKV also. We still have our old luggage tags but we where told by MS that we would receive them again, but the person seemed to even to question the answer he gave. Any advise on first trip and we will bringing our 1 year old son.

He's wrong. No luggage tags (although you can purchase some nice DVC ones in the DVC resort shops).

If you sign up for ME in time, you will receive your ME "booklet" and the correct number of paper ME bar code "strips" for your luggage handles for your inbound flights.

FYI - ME now only gives you one luggage tag per person. If you need additional, you have to call them and make a request.

I think there is a central number that you can call to purchase items from the stores. Someone else might know. We used the service to buy a monorail toy a couple of weeks after returning from the parks. All they needed was a description of the item, and the store.

We will also be at AKV from 12/2-12/5 for a quick holiday visit. This will be our second DVC stay having made our first at BLT in just a few weeks back.

Any tips on traveling with a baby??? :)

We have traveled with young kids quite a few times now - all 3 of our kids have been every year making their first trip at about 3-4 months old. With that in mind here are our tips:

  • Know where the baby care centers are in each park - they are a great place for feeding, changing diapers, or just to escape to someplace cool and quiet
  • The baby care centers do have diapers, food, other necessities should an emergency arise (amazing how many diapers you can use in a given day)
  • A change of clothes in the diaper bag is always a good idea (see diaper comment above)
  • You know your son - when he needs a break take one - this makes for a much happier baby AND mom and dad
  • Relax and Enjoy your trip - with kids something will always go not quite the way you had hoped, but sometimes those moments are the ones that stick with you the longest

If you are not already planning to, bring your own stroller! You are going to want it in the airport and around the resort and it can get very expensive renting one. I always travel with a good umbrella stroller.

:rotfl2: As much as I love my home resort...like many others have said you will need your own stroller from the lobby for the long, safari like walk to the room. Kidani=walking to your room is an Adventure by Disney. :rotfl:
