Quick report from our fantastic quick trip home to OKW (Oct 1 - 4)!
We arrived on Sunday around noon. Our room wasn't ready, so we headed to the Magic Kingdom. As we were walking into the MK, they announced the Family Fun Day Parade would be starting momentarily. No sooner did I finish telling my DH that you had to be there earlier in the day to get picked, we were asked to be in the parade!
Woo Hoo! A little Disney Magic as soon as we arrived! Needless to say we had a BLAST waving our flags and walking down Main Street!
We attended MNSSHP on Monday night and had a great time. DH, DD and I were Parrot Heads from OKW (of course!). The boys were pirates (what else!)
I'll post some pics of the view from our room in Building 46. At first I was a little disappointed with being on the first floor (and a little annoyed by the fruit loops on the edge of our balcony), but when we woke up in the next morning, we had "visitors" for breakfast and I realized why there were fruit loops on the edge of the patio! The boys LOVED feeding the ducks too!! (so much for the little boxes of cereal I brought with us for breakfast, at least the ducks ate well!)
The walk from Building 46 to the Hospitality area was not bad at all, and we loved being in this area. Nice and quiet. The kids (who hadn't been to OKW before we purchased DVC and were disappointed not to be staying at the Polynesian) LOVED it. They had a great time at the "cool pool" and my youngest liked that it was "quiet and really pretty" there. It was actually like being on "vacation" while at Disney for a change and a nice break from the madness of the parks.
We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Old Key West and couldn't be happier with our DVC purchase! (and yes, we "need" more points already!)
