First trip home...I've got a couple questions??

I'm really getting stoked about this trip!

1. We're staying the first two nights (Fri & Sat) at the Poly before moving to BWV for five nights. We want to go to Enight on Tues. Can I purchase enight tix at the Poly even though we won't be staying there on the enight we want to attend?

2. Would it be best to get to BWV early Sunday morning to check in, then head to the parks? or have Disney transfer luggage go on to the parks then come back later around 3-3:30 & check in? If we arrived early, rather than late, would we have a better chance of getting our room location requests made? Really, the only request I made was smoking, near the elevator.

Thanks for your help!

Personally, I would go early and check-in.
I'm thinking if there is any problem with your requests then they have all day to fix it. What I mean is if there is no room with smoking available at early check-in then the CMs would be aware that you need one early in the day as opposed to arriving at 3:30 and all rooms have been assigned and it is more difficult to rearrange. You don't have to wait for your luggage to check-in.
JMHO.

When we changed from PO to BCV in Nov. we went over early, checked-in and then went to breakfast at Cape May. We were lucky and our room was ready. After breakfast we walked over to EPCOT.

I would go over to the BW early, check-in, have breakfast at the BW Bakery and then head to EPCOT or MGM for the morning.

I don't know if you can buy Enight tickets at the Poly or not. My advice is to just buy them on Sunday at the BWV. There won't be any question that you can buy them there and I can't believe they will sell out before then. If you are really concerned about that, you could stop by the Guest Service desk at the Poly and see what they say.

It's really just a matter of personal choice.

My advice is to check out of the Poly early and go over to the BWV to check in (and buy your Enight tickets). Do let Disney transfer your luggage, though.

Even though the BWV rooms are pretty much pre-assigned, it doesn't hurt to get there early and get your keys. That way, your room won't be given away to someone else who didn't like their original assignment for some reason. Also, it's been my experience that the check in lines are longer on the afternoons and evenings, especially on Sunday. That's due to lots of DVC members checking in on that day. After you get your keys (doubt that the room will be ready), you can go to a park. I'd plan on EPCOT or MGM for that day (or maybe even AK). By the time you are ready to return, your room may be ready. You can call from the park to check.

Enjoy the trip!! Can't wait to read your trip report so hope you are planning to do one!

I can't add anything in particular to the advice you've been given... just want to say that I hope you REALLY enjoy your first trip home!!! I recall reading your last trip reports, and I'm very happy for you that you are now a DVC member. Have a WONDERFUL vacation!!!

hey JM -

When we checked in on our first night (which was at Wilderness lodge) we were offered the chance to buy our enight tickets at check-in. The gal that checked us in said they usually sell out before 4:00 pm, so it may be a good choice to go ahead and buy them as early as they'll sell them to you.

As for checking in early. You might want to call. When we arrived to BCV we had to wait until 4:00 pm to get into our room. We ran into housekeeping on the way and were told that had they known we were there and ready to check in they would have done our room first instead of last. If the front desk had told her to do our room first we could have gotten in much earlier.

Hope this helps!!
