Hi, I'm 17 and going on my first wdw trip for 2 weeks in beginning december with my parents, we are vegetarians and are trying to save as much money as possible and that means no dinning plan. We are staying in one of the all star vacation homes and will be doing other things in FL for the 2 weeks including wdw. We havent booked our wdw tickets yet because we don't know how many days we will want to spend in the park. We also will have a car and just let me say that I am the only disney nut in my family, my mom likes it, but i don't know how my dad feels about it because he just doesn't say. Also i will probably be going on some rides by myself if i get the courage; my parents are in there late to mid 50s and they can't handel spinning and certain things. We have also been to Disneyland many, many, many times and we love it, so that we know. So I guess i am asking for you to give some of your insight on wdw, what i am doing wrong here and etc. thank you

Yay! You're going on your first trip to WDW. How exciting! :cool1:
If I were you, I would get a good guide book for WDW (I recommend the latest versions of The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World and The Complete Guide to Walt Disney World). These guides can help you decide which rides are best for you and which restaurants are best suited for you. Of course, the DIS boards are very helpful, too! Also, decide if you want to see all the parks or just certain ones and decide which days you want to go to the parks. If you want eat at a table service/buffet restaurant, try to choose them as soon as you can so that you can make your ADRs. Happy trip planning! :)

:scared1: 50s isn't old! Just remember, you're only as old as you feel! Maybe they just don't prefer those kind of rides. I'm 27 and I hate anything that spins. :rotfl:

You'll have tons of fun even if you go there without a plan! I'm going next month as my first trip as an adult. The only thing we have planned so far is FUN!! Since it's our first time, we're planning on winging it for the most part. We researched on these boards and made dinner reservations already. These boards are a fantastic resource.

I did purchase the Unofficial Guide to WDW - and I must say, fantastic book but it can be extremely overwhelming for the first timers. I found these boards a little easier to swallow. I think it's a great resource after you get your feet wet so to speak.

In other words, do a little research but don't overplan! Enjoy your time at Disney, enjoy your time with your family and HAVE FUN!!!

To save money, bring snacks/lunch/drinks in with you. I'd advise at least 4 days--one day in each park--at Disney.

Every restaurant will accommodate a vegetarian menu, even if they don't have one! Simply tell the waitress, and they'll send the chef out to chat about your meal - it's great. My cousins are vegans and I've been impressed by how great their meals look at Disney.

Also, bring a jar of PB and a loaf of bread - saves ALOT of $ and time!

HAve a great trip!
