Hi everyone. I have been reading the UK boards for a few months now, but this is my first post. I feel a bit like the new kid at senior school. Wow, it's big in here, isn't it!

We are making our first trip to Florida next month and I have found the boards and this site immensely useful in planning what we are going to do, and, as important, the mistakes we are going to avoid.

I've put a draft plan for the trip together and would be really grateful for any constructive criticism all you experts can provide. I know I still need to plan the details of each day (fast passes, altrernatives for scaredy-cats, meals etc) but here's the basics

Party; 4 adults, kids girl 12 , boys 9(9th birthday while we are there) and 8.
Arrive MCO 15/10 16;40pm -depart 29/10 17;50pm ( Virgin prem Econ; hideously expensive and will probably spoil me for Econ for life!)
Staying in Private villa in Kissimmee (own pool and gated community facilities)
Theme park tickets all purchased.

Draft itinerary

15/10 Arrive and find villa
16/10 MK (Wishes 10pm)
17/10 Chill out at villa am Gatorland pm
18/10 Brekkie at Chef Mickeys (son's birthday) Blizzard beach and possibly Ripley's/shopping pm
19/10 Disney/MGM
20/10 Discovery Cove (wow, am I looking forward to this!)
21/10 AK
22/10 Chill out am Sea World/shopping pm
23/10 EPCOT (Illuminations 9pm)
24/10 Universal
25/10 Typhoon Lagoon (might switch 24 and 25 but i hear the water parks are busier at weekends)
26/10 Sea world
27/10 I of A
28/10 Favourite Park 2nd day
29/10 Chill out and go home.

Any and all input much appreciated.

Just one comment. You will wake up very very early on your first morning - which is great - you can get to the parks early and do all the popular rides before the crowds arrive. BUT you will be flagging well before Wishes. Depending on where your villa is - you may want to return for a nap mid-afternoon to recharge your batteries before heading back to see Wishes.

Hi Paul, Your itinery looks good to me, not that I am an expert as we have only been once! We went around same time last Oct for 2 weeks and have booked for next Oct. Good time to go. I would consider swapping days 16th & 17th. First day we were shattered, and if the villa has a pool, the kids won't want to leave it! Also gives you time to have a little look around and do some shopping, (we spent about 2 hrs in Walmart each time we went). I would also check out the water park opening times as later on in Oct, they alternate opening on a couple of days. We also spent full days at these, we thought they were better than some of the theme parks! Hope this helps and have a fantastic time.

Hi and welcome

The plan looks good, but as the others say on you first real day, you will feeel exhausted at about 6pm.

If you want to do a park on your first day, we have always found Seaworld a good choice. The pace is slower and there are a lot of shows where you can sit and relax.

Other than that, Im sure you will have a great time

Another vote for perhaps keeping Wishes for another night, or at least resting up during the day.

Also as you're there during October, have you thought about going to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at MK? It costs extra on top of the basic theme park tickets, but it really is a unique event. If you do go for this, avoid Friday nights as they tend to be busiest.

You guys obviously have alot of stamina as they aren't much down time. We went last October & the days around Columbus Day were busy (don't know when it falls this year, but may affect your plan). We usually start with AK & early breakfast as we can complete the park, but it is a guaranteed early finish.
