Hello!

This is our 1st onsite trip for me (30), Hubby (32) and DD (10) and the
FIRST TRIP EVER for SIL, her Hubby and 3 kids (5), (2) and 8 months.

We are pumped to be on the dining plan as table service meals in the parks will be a new experience for all of us:

These are the ressies we have: Keep in mind that we did not care what times we got and we wanted to take a break from the heat because we will be there in August:

Let me know if you think we made good choices:

1.) Sunday 8/27 - Liberty Tree Tavern Character Dinner at 4pm (extra magic evening hours, so we are prepared for craziness and the "smile and wave" technique if we encounter rudeness)

2.) Monday 8/28 - Garden Grill at EPCOT for Character Lunch at 11:40 am.

3.) Tuesday 8/29 - Crystal Palace at MK for Character Lunch at 2:10. (We don't care if we miss the parade, because sitting in the heat with a baby would not be a good thing)

4.) Wednesday 8/30 - Sci-Fi Drive Inn at DS for Lunch at 2:30 (ditto with parade comment above)

5.) Thursday 8/31 - Chef Mickey's for Dinner at 6:10 after a day at Animal Kingdom.

We are using bus transportation.

Well... that's it!!!! We are amped!!!!!
Tell me what you think, and if you have any tips for dining with little ones (and energetic little ones I might add) please post them.
Note: The kids are all sweeties and we can't wait to see the magic of Disney through their eyes.

Thanks for your tips, comments and other words of wisdom, as we are newbies.

I think your plan looks fun. Sure is alot of character meals though. In case you haven't seen the menus for any of the places you are eatting or may want to eat at here is a link

I would also bring some things in the bad to entertan kids at meals or while in line. Bubbles, game boy, little hand held games or anything that they are interested in!!

Hopefully it won't be too crowded when you are there because alot of schools go back early this year. Florida schools start the very begining of August and it will be before labor day. Have a greattrip.

Wow, you have a lot of character meals. Those are more fun for the atmosphere then for the food in my opinion. The kids will love them. And depending on the younger ones, Sci Fi might be kinda scary for them, I've seen kids crying in there. It's dark and they show snippets of old monster movies.

Yes, lots of character meals. We are staying for 9 days and have 3. That is our max otherwise DH and I would go nuts! LOL!

Enjoy!

I think it looks great, although I would probably do PTC over Sci-Fi. I think PTC is more kid friendly and we like the food better.

We did mostly character buffets too and they we're great with small children. I could find something they would actually eat and watching the characters kept them occupied enough that I actually got to eat too! It also beats standing in lines in the heat to get character pics.

We will be there the same time as you at ASMo! Give yourself plenty of time getting to Chef Mickey's if you are leaving from your hotel. There are also quite a bit of character meals on your agenda. I personally like them, as long as your DD who is 10 will enjoy them. My DS10 asked that I not do certain ones bc 'hes just not into that' lol.

We did 5 character meals in 7 days with dd4 and ds2 and they loved them---and so did we! I think you will have lots of fun! Enjoy your trip!

Looks like fun :thumbsup2 Be sure and allow yourselves at least an hour travel time from AK to Chef Mickey's. :sunny:

Yes, we purposly planned alot of character meals so that the kids can be entertained throughout the meal (especially the baby and 2 yo.)
My DD loves meeting the characters, and the last character meal she had was on the Disney Magic for breakfast when she was in Kindergarten.

We are looking forward to this trip!
For Chef Mickey's we are planning on hopping on a bus to the Contemporary from Animal Kingdom when the park closes at 5.
Our ressie is at 6:10 so we will have about an hour I am guessing.

Thanks again for the kind words and tips!!!!
