first timers with kids

This is our first trip with the kids.We are staying at Wilderness Lodge,Haven't been in quite a few years! Have a few questions, We are going Dec. 2-8 How is the weather in early Dec.?How are the crowds?Taking 2 DS's one 14 and 4.Getting the dining plan. Good choice for us as where Ds14 loves to eat and so do we.How is the Lodge 1 queen and 2 bunks cant put the 2 kids in same bed. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

That sounds like the best thing to do.
We went two years ago at the exact same time. The crowds were very light. As a matter of fact, they did not even have to use the fast pass system. The WL to is the best place to experience the whole Christmas atmosphere. We stayed there and simply fell in love with the lodge. Attending the MVMCP is a must!! As a matter of fact we attended 2 of the parties. The weather was cool to warm during the day and at night, we had to wear a light jacket.

We went last year 11/30-12/5 and crowds were pretty light. Weather was up and down. Very cool at night (low/mid 50's). It rained one morning and that was the best day at MK we had. It had cleared by 1pm and the longest wait we had was 10 minutes for Indy Speedway. Everything else we just about walked right onto including, Buzz, IASM, MAWP, Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, and we saw Philharmagic twice. It definately a great week to go. We also did MVMCP and that was also awesome. Best parade in our opinion. You'll notice it getting more crowded on the weekend as that is Pop Warner Football weekend. For the week I think we used fastpass only twice, for Soarin and RnRc (only cuz we wanted to ride it twice). I did the EMH at MGM one night and road RnRc 3 times with no wait. The x-mas lights are awesome too btw. Only problem with EMH was waiting for the bus after closing, very very long lines, but they did send 2 buses at a time instead of the regular 1.

Have a great trip, it's a good time to, take some warm clothes, 2 years ago it's got in the low 40ies at night. We are going on the 10th.
