Hi:

I need your expert advice:

We are going to WDW for our 5 year old daughter's first trip.

I cannot afford the luxury rooms, so a moderate will have to do (unless there is some kind of sale/discount?).

What would be a good moderate to stay at.........I am leaning towards POFQ or CBR.

I want easy bus transport, and something smaller with quick access to room/restraunt would be ideal.

Thanks

:dogdance:

If you want easy bus transport then you want CSR! No shared busing. Also the best pool of the mods and a great food court, IMO of course.

POFQ is nice and compact, and very quiet.

CSR is my favorite! Best bus service, best pool and great food options! Check out my website below for pics and info. Good luck deciding!

I am shying away from CSR simply due to the reviews some have had with the "suits" at the pools oggling the girls, etc....

I am not really interested in having my daughter's first disney adventure anywhere where the atmosphere is anything less than kid FOCUSED.

Please correct me if I am mistaken.

If you want super kid friendly, I'd look into the value resorts! They are also not neccesarily huge either.

A moderate will give you compact, and pofq would be a good choice. Although I didn't think any of the moderates were particularly disney themed or totally kid centered.

CSR is where I'm going on my honeymoon in July, It's very lush and tropical and beautiful, a good respite from the truly kid friendly parks. as a p.p. mentioned it does not share their busses with anyone else. It is large but you only have to deal with the section you are in and the features you want. You can ignore the rest of the resort if you wish.

Good Luck!

I say value, if you are sure you want a moderate i say pofq for sure.

I have never stayed at CSR, but I have heard the same thing you have heard about the 'suits.' Supposedly it is a popular resort for people attending conventions.... Just my 2 cents: We will be staying at CBR for the 3rd time this August with our kids 11,7, and 1. Our kids love the big pool and the kiddie/wading pool. The food court is great too. A few times at night my DH and I would relax by the pool while the kids took a swim, and we could see a bit of the Epcot fireworks. It is a very nice resort. The only thing is it's size... it is huge. There is so much walking to be done at the parks, when we get back to the resort, we are done like toast, ya know? :rotfl: Try and book a "preferred" room if you can. It will get you closer to the main pool and food court. Also, the location seems a bit better. It is an Epcot resort, while the POresorts are considered Downtown Disney resorts, I think. Enjoy your trip!

I would vote for CBR. It is my absolute favorite. Just made my reservation for June. I have probably stayed there at least 10 times over the years. It is so beautiful. I usually stay in Aruba and love walking over the island to get to the food court. The hammocks and quiet pools are not bad either!!

We Spent a week at CSR last Year and did not
notice any problems with business men,
all I saw were Families enjoy the wonderful Pool Area!!

The CM working in the quick service food
at the Pool was very
flirty though, I was flattered by him,
He said that I had Beautiful Eyes,
I think I blushed.
I'm a Mom and I'm in my early 40's.
I wasn't offended by his comment. :cloud9:

CSR!! No shared buses is worth everything. Your crazy if you let one post stop you from trying a resort. Negative posts happen for every resort.

The CSR has it's own buses?

That is VERY nice.

Will give it some thought, I know I shouldn't judge it by a few negative posts about some businessmen there.

We are staying at CBR for our family's first trip in August. Personally, I wasn't bowled over by CSR's "look" I was swayed by the island feel of CBR. ALso, I booked preferred at Montinique so that we are close to the food and pool, not so much walking to be done.
Hope that helps!

I've stayed @ CSR 2X and never saw any businessmen at all (or none that I noticed) and CERTAINLY not anything at the pools in any way shape or form. I hadn't heard anything of the sort either. But I agree w/PP, there will be negatives and positives posted about all resorts, I wouldnt let it make my decisions for me. I personally do not like CBR at ALL, and there are tons of people who will stay nowhere else..it's just personal opinions. I'd definitely say try it for yourself, it is STUNNING!!

Does CBR share busses with another resort?

Compared to CBR is CSR as spread out? What about POR? Just trying to get a feel and pick one, too- sorry for the thread hijack.

The only mod we've stayed at was POR (when we still only had 3 kids;) ) and we LOVED:love: it. We've stayed at CR, Poly, GF (we are trying the FW cabins in July). POR is my DH's favorite even considering the deluxes. For me, I really liked Poly, but it's a pretty close race with POR. There is a lot to do at POR, fishing, great pool, boat to DTD, really fun lounge/bar, etc. If we could afford 2 rooms at a mod, we'd probably go there before any other mod. Now we have 4 kids and the youngest turns 3 in May so even deluxes are out for us. I'd give POR a try. It is really beautiful.
