Hi everyone, I'm just looking for a bit of help with our Disney honeymoon itinerary. It will be the first time to Disney for my fiance, and my first time since I was 3 yrs old. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with the itinerary planning. We are staying at Port Orleans French Quarter for 7 nights (June 21 - 28) and would like to spend 2 of those days at Universal. We would also like to hit all 4 theme parks, and 1 day at the water park, we would also like some time to hang out at the resort/pool IF possible. I realize we won't get to see/do everything, but we'd like to hit all the main/classic attractions. Sorry if this post is really long!!

Here's our itinerary for critiquing:
Day 1:
-Land in Orlando (from Canada) at 11am
-Take the Magical Express to Resort
-Check into resort by 1pm, then explore resort/ have lunch (I expect we probably won't have access to our room until much later)

-Arrive at Magic Kingdom for 3pm
-Explore Main Street USA, Fantasy Land and Tomorrow Land
-ADR at Be Our Guest 6:50pm
-Find good location to enjoy Parade/fireworks

Day 2:
- Epcot for Rope Drop
- Explore Future World
- ADR at Coral Reef 12pm
- Leave Epcot at 1:30, walk through/explore the Boardwalk
- Make our way to the Mini Golf Course at Swan/Dolphin for 2:30pm

- Walk/take boat? to Hollywood Studios for 4pm
- ADR at Sci Fi Dine In for 4:40pm (Although I keep checking for a later time)
- Hopefully get to see Fantasmic or the Star Wars Fireworks
- Head over to Magic Kingdom for EMH IF we somehow still have the energy

Day 3:
- Animal Kingdom
For Rope Drop
- Catch a Quick Service meal for lunch (recommendations?)
- Leave at around 1pm, head back to resort for swimming/ napping/ arcading

- Arrive at Epcot for 5pm, Explore International Showcase
- ADR at Le Cellier for 5:50
- More exploring of the World Showcase after dinner
- Watch Illuminations

Day 4:
- Day at Universal Studios
- Come back to resort whenever we've had our fill of Universal

Day 5:
- Water Park Day (Probably Blizzard Beach)
- Disney Springs for dinner IF we have the energy, if not, relax on Resort

Day 6:
- Day at Universal Studios
- Again, come back to resort once we've had enough

Day 7:
-
Morning at Magic Kingdom
-
ADR at Be Our Guest for 8:25am (Breakfast)
- Explore Adventureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square
- Leave at 1pm

-
Go to resort for a break or, if we don't need a break, go check out another park that we want to see more of
- Back to Magic Kingdom for 6pm do/see anything we missed
- ADR at Cinderella's Royal Table for 8:30pm

Day 8:
- Pack :(
- Spend time at the pool
- Arrive at airport for 5pm

Seems like you have a good plan.
Research the attractions to see what FPs you want to have. It'll be HOT so include a water ride or 2 and some air conditioned rides.
And if you've had enough of BE Our Guest the first time, you canswitch it to something else the 2nd time.
As you said, you may not see all the rides and shows so prioritize the ones that interest you the most.

First of all, I would reccommend flame tree barbecue as your QS on your AK day. Second, my fiancé and I went to universal on our last trip and I don't know how you tour but we did both parks most every ride, in one day. We were done by about 3:00 and ate
Lunch at margaritaville. You may be able to take one day off of the US part?

Finally your disneymoon overlaps ours! We are arriving June 26 to POR :)

Enjoy!!!

Happy Honeymooning! Looks like a fun schedule! We are also having our Dismoon there this August!
You will certainly enjoy Universal - there's a lot to do and the Harry Potter areas are magical!! We stay on site and love it, it's our mini vaca before Disney every year!

I would say, you are doing well. Indeed, book your fastpasses and mention on each reservation you are celebrating your honeymoon. Have fun!

Day 2: Go straight to Test Track, Sum of All Thrills, Mission Space. FP for Hollywood Studio. I vote for walk to Hollywood Studios.
Day 3: Yak 'n Yeti quick service for lunch at AK. See Soarin' before Illuminations.
Day 7: I would say, book your FP's in the evening. In the morning go straight to: Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain, Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion.
Day 8: You could visit Disney Springs on the morning/afternoon of your departure day. Rest and relax after water park.

Do you have any fast passes booked?

Yes we booked them all for the mornings as we figure we can then book more FP's for the evening after we've used up our first 3. Is this a good plan? Or will the evening ones be gone by then?

Here's our Fast Passes:

Day 1:
-Peter Pan's Flight
-Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
-Space Mountain

Day 2:
-Spaceship Earth
-Mission: Space
-Soarin
*and as someone here suggested, we'll aim to head straight for Test Track as soon as we get there

Day 3:
-Expedition Everest
- Kali River Rapids
- Kilimanjaro Safaris

No Fast Passes booked for Days 4, 5, 6 as these are Universal and Water Park days

Day 7
-Big Thunder
-Splash Mountain
-Jungle Cruise

Congrats!! Are you staying at Riverside or French Quarter?

Thanks for the tip about Universal... I will seriously consider moving it to 1 day to free up some time. I had figured we'd need 2 days as I'm a BIG BIG BIG Harry Potter fan, and my fiance is looking forward to the "real" roller coasters. But perhaps with a park to park pass, we could do it all in 1 day :D

Thanks so much for the tips!!
Very good idea for Day 7! I'll check and see if there are still Fast Passes available for that evening!
Also good idea for Day 8, I hadn't even thought of it, but we'll probably be burnt out from spending all day in the sun!

We are staying at riverside :)

I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan as well. We used the Mears bus, got there super early with park to park passes. We planned on getting in line for HP for the gringotts and waiting until park opened. Got there early enough that the cast asked if we were celebrating anything, which we had just gotten engaged, and said they thought we'd prefer to go in and ride instead of wait with them. While it's not a guarantee, it was still awesome. And basically there were only a handful of rides we didn't go on but definitely could have. I think the only big ride we didn't do was hulk because I didn't want to ride alone and my fiancé didn't want to go with me. I ran into the same thing without park to park the last time. We did the hogwarts side (I can't keep them straight) and did all the rides in less than 8 hours.

Look at the universal board here. There were a lot of great resources and I followed the ride plan and we barely waited for anything.

I was going to go the opposite way.

I was going to suggest doing WDW first, then *moving* to Universal to stay onsite and get the perks.

While you CAN do Uni in one day, I just continue to be befuddled as to why anyone would WANT to. :)

To keep 2 days there but to have perks, you can stay onsite for just 1 night at a deluxe, and you get early entrance to Wizarding World as well as unlimited Express Pass, which covers all rides and shows except: Ollivander's show, Pteranodon Flyers (which with just two adults you won't have access to anyway, since it has a height min AND max), Kang&Kong in Simpsons area, Gringott's, and Forbidden Journey.

No, you don't get magical express back to the airport, but splurge a little and take a cab or one of the towncars or SUVs they have at the Universal deluxes...
