First Timer ???

We have decided to take some time from our Disney World trip to head over to Universal. The question is how much time do you need to do both parks? It will just be Me, my husband and our 8 year old daughter. My husband and daughter are not thrill ride people so we will not take time for those. Any ideas. We were hoping to hit the highlites in a full day. Any thoughts?

I would think that in October, with lower crowds and with no thrill rides you would have time to hit most of the major attractions in one day.

I would hit Universal first - I think there would be more to do if you're not doing thrill rides - and then hit what you want at IOA. My DD8 would not do Seuss rides this year (said she was "too old" for that) so depending on your child's view you may or may not want to do that land. No thrill rides leaves Spiderman in Marvel Island (fun!) Toon Lagoon and Jurassic Park are water rides - not sure what the temp would be then if you would want to get wet (soaked-at least on Popeye's raft ride). Then you have Harry Potter and Lost Continent (my least favorite of the IOA lands).

Thank you for the info. That really helps. I thought that it may just take us 1 solid day to get the things in that we wanted to do. We have never been so it it hard to gage. Thank you again!

I am taking my DS Oct 29 for his BD. He really wants to see HP stuff. i was hoping to stay on site get in early for Olivander's, the castle with ride, other 2 rides, frozen butter beer. next leave to do other rides. I am trying to decide if I will need 2 days to see the highlights of both places. DS loves roller coasters so we will want to do all of those. Any thoughts would be great.
