My wife and I swear by the Unofficial Guide, but plenty of other people use others. Also, WDWInfo.com (and allears.net...*shhhh*) have great information. And you can ask questions on the Themepark Attractions and Strategies forum (http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2).

And welcome! Both of you! :)

I swear by the Unofficial Guide as well. It seems ridiculous but I'm pretty sure I read the 2008 edition cover to cover. The touring plans are legitimate even if they seem a bit extreme at first. Don't expect pictures in that book though, they explain at the beginning why they don't have photos and why it's called the "unofficial" guide. There are lists for everything in that book... check lists, every single resort and surrounding hotels including how much time it takes to get from point A to point B in countless scenarios. There are details about each park and the attractions within that include multifaceted ratings (anything from headliner to major attraction all of the way to major distraction), how many stars from 1-5 different age groups rate different attractions so you can plan according to the ages of people in your group. It explains loading times based on 100 people in line and a little bit of history and detail about the type of attraction. There is a huge section on Disney dining including price ranges and type of food. I could go on and on... it has everything in it and at the very back of the book it has multiple touring plans that are meant to be cut out and taken with you into the parks.

There are other sites like allears.net, mousesavers.com and the site associated with these boards wdwinfo.com.

Honestly, the absolute best resource for planning a trip to WDW is right here on the disboards. Books can only say so much in one binding, but here you have advice given by tons of people who have their own stories to share. Don't be shy to start a new thread, but I recommend that you browse to find the most appropriate section so you will get your questions answered faster.

Good luck and happy planning!
