We will be there for two days Sunday June 24 and Monday June 25. The 6 kids are between 9 and 22, i am 66. I have a one night ressie at Royal Pacific for two rooms so we will have 2 days with Front of line and early entry.

1. Are the FoL passes effective?

2. I can do Star Tours but cannot do roller coasters at all. So will any rides be friendly to me?

3. Are the quick meal vouchers really worth the cost?

4. How much planning do I need to do or can I just wing it and still have a good time?

5. Will it be difficult getting connecting rooms?

Thanks for any help.

Hi yes most posters on here will say express pass (FOL) is effective. I can't see doing the parks without it. It can cut a wait time down by almost an hour on a busy day and busy ride.

You should be able to do Minions, Men in Black, Jimmy Fallon, E.T. probably the Simpsons (unless you get motion sickness) and Fast and Furious in the studios. These rides are basically simulated rides. If you can't do coasters stay away from the Mummy. Gringotts in the studios HP world is a coaster type ride. However, it is not really that fast or bumpy. I would look at some videos of that one. In IOA you could do Spider man , Kong and the water rides? I don't know why you can't do roller coasters but Forbidden Journey in Hogsmeade can give people motion sickness. I would probably look at some ride videos.

Honestly we didn't find the meal vouchers to be worth the cost except for twice when we could use them with a combo meal that came with a milk shake. This was in Thunder Falls Terrace in IOA and one place in VB. You can buy the meal plan as you go so you can decide once your there.

The beauty of Uni is you really don't have to plan much with express pass and early entry. You can wing away! The only thing I would do is look at the stickies for restaurants you like. The one thing I do is just have an idea of how much time you might want to spend in each park. You could do that there.

I think with any hotel you can request a room situation but they will never guarantee it. I would put the request in with the reservation then ask at check in. There is one exception to this rule. We go to Cedar Point and stay at Hotel Breakers and they actually have a connecting room category that you can book to be guaranteed one.

Sounds like it will be a nice trip with your grandchildren.

If you can do Star Tours, you can do pretty much all of the rides at the parks (other than the coasters, of course). I can't do Star Tours at all (even with motion sickness meds) but can do all of the rides at Uni with motion sickness meds. I do the coasters as well, except Rip Ride Rockit which I just find too rough.

Yes, express will make a difference for your dates.

I wouldn't bother with the meal plan.

Hello suevee :wave2:.

It is so sweet of you to take all your grandchildren to Universal. You are making memories with them that they will never forget.

I’am also a grandma. I take my two youngest grandchildren to Universal every May and we have a blast. We have been going for a number of years and they love it and so do I.

RPR is a beautiful hotel with some of the nicest people working there. You are made to feel very welcome from the time you enter. Let the person you make reservations with know you need adjoining rooms to accommodate your family. I don’t think this will be a problem.

Having the Unlimited Express Pass for everyone will make the trip much more enjoyable. You will be going during a busy time.

There are some really nice dining options in CityWalk and that Parks. I would go online at Universal Orlando and look at the dining options. The prices are listed and this will give you an idea of the cost on your meals.

There is a family feast meal at The Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade that is fantastic and a bargain. Roasted chicken, ribs, potatoes, corn, delicious veggies and salad.

Read the sticky on Royal Pacific Resort so you can enjoy your stay at the fullest.

Also read all the great information on all the things to look for at the two Harry Potter Parks...look at the sticky
“ Wizarding World Touring Plans And Details “ ruthies12 has listed things not to miss. You will be a hit with the grandchildren if you point these extras out to them for sure.

I will point out some fun things my grandchildren and I enjoy. They are 20 and 14 now.

I always encourage my grandchildren to go online at Universal Orlando and find a restaurants they want to eat at on our trip.

Restaurants we enjoy are in CityWalk

Cowfish

Toothsome Chocolate Emporium

NBC Sports Grill & Brew

Vivo Italian Kitchen

There are lots to choose from.

At Universal Studio rides

Despicable Me Minion Mayhem

Shrek

ET

Transformers

Monster Make up show (is fantastic)

Mummy is an inside coaster. The kiddos will like this ride.

They will love competing with each other to see who gets the most points on the Men in Black ride.

Diagon Alley....The wand show at Ollivanders..... "Escape from Gringotts" ride. Wondering through Knockturn Alley. Lots to see.

Riding the Hogwarts Express between the Potter Parks. You need a Park to Park ticket for this.

Restaurants at Universal that we enjoy

Louie's has good pizza

Finnegan's is good

Walk in and have a look around Monsters Cafe

We have eaten at Lombard's on a number of occasions always been pretty good.

Islands of adventure

Adventures of Spider-man

Kong is fun to ride as a family

Camp Jurassic would be fun for the younger ones.

The pteranodon Flyers is only for the younger ones

Jurassic Park River Adventure is fun to ride as a family, but you will get wet.

There is an interactive Rapter Encounter that would be a very fun family photo op in Jurassic Park area.

Hogsmeade is really fun.

If you do not want to ride Forbidden Journey you can take a walking tour of the Castle while the kiddos ride it.

Restaurants at Islands of Adventure that we enjoy

Family Feast at Three Broomsticks

Mytho's

Confisco Grille

If you do early entry in the morning it is so nice to come back and take advantage of some pool time and then go back to parks again later. You can pool hop between all the Resorts.

I always have the kiddos wait and ride the rides they are going to get wet on to when we are heading back to hotel. That way they are not walking around in wet clothes.

Hope this helps.

From one grandma to another you will have a great time with your grandchildren at Universal ::yes::
