Day 3:
Weather is still unbelievably beautiful. Today we head off to the Disney Speedway for DH's Petty rookie experience. I won't go into detail, but he LOVED it! Said it was the best present ever...and plans to do it again next year.

We got back to the RPR, changed and headed back to IOA after a great lunch at Margaritaville. I had the cheeseburger in Paradise (YUMMY!), DH had a steak w/shrimp (liked it, but Nascar's was better), and DS had a cheeseburger (liked better than the bam burger, said it was easier to bite!).

IOA is crowded (I think everyone from up north must be here!) but we navigate easily with FOTL. We do Spiderman twice, then Ripshaw falls, then Jurassic river, then Ripshaw again. We head back for more Spidey, then back to RPR for poolside fun and relaxation. We then head up, change and take the boat back to Universal, it's 6:30pm and the park is closing at 7! We ride MIB and BTTF as these seem to be the family favs. We walk back to RPR (just missed the boat) and DS is pooped. We decide to hit Jake's for a quick bite. After a 20 min wait we are seated. DS gets a hot dog, I ordered the kid's chicken tenders (more tired than hungry), & DH gets the ribs. Everything is tasty, but DS falls asleep...leaning against the sonic "we" won at a water gun race ("we" spent $15 in games to "win" it) with a half-eaten dog in hand. Long day, off to the room to unwind with that bottle of wine. A new corkscrew had been sent up. DH inserts and twists again...this time the plastic handle snaps in half! Again, no wine...

Day 4:
Our last full day, I am sad already. We head to IOA and ride spidey a few times, then ripshaw, then jurassic, then ripshaw again (glad it is warm out...we are soaked!). We hit spidey again, then wander over to unicorn for a quick ride. We then spend about 1/2hr at the fountain. A big hit with DS who shares jokes and continues to get wet. I take a quick spin on Fire (DS not happy with me...sheesh, I wish he would grow) and then we have a great lunch at Mythos. Wow, what a neat place. I had the pizza of the day, DS had a kid's pizza, & DH had a burger. All great, and the service was excellent. DH was particularly impressed with the new frosted glass with each bottle of bud.

For the 2nd 1/2 of the day we head to US. We ride Jimmy, then Earthquake (yuck...boring...yuck), Mummy (yay!) and MIB & BTTF multiple times. We then do mummy and jimmy again. Then MIB & BTTF AGAIN! It is 7pm and time to go. We stop at Citywalk for dinner at Nascar again. We all order the same as the first time. DH still says they have the best steak. Back in the room we finally get that bottle of wine open after my DH plays McGyver (SP??) and uses the gap bathroom door & the wall to "grasp" the screw part that is still stuck in the cork. We enjoy some wine and go to sleep. I am ready to cry....almost over.

Day 5:
The good weather has finally left us. It is sprinkling as we check out and load everything into the truck :umbrella: . At 9am we head to US one last time. We ride MIB & BTTF, mummy, jimmy and then finally get to see Shrek. We do mummy one last time and then say goodbye. :sad2:

Overall, GREAT vacation! We loved the convenience of being onsite. No real complaints. FOTL made it all worth it! Can't wait to do it again. Next time I think we will try Hard Rock. View, I have decided, makes no difference to us. We never spent any time looking out the windows! If you have any questions, just let me know!!

Enjoyed your report! We were there right before you and the weather sure was wonderful. I agree about the room views and also that if we do it again we would try Hard Rock. My DD (5 1/2) also loved FOTL...she called it cut-sies! Did your son get a gift at check in? They said they were out when we were there. Glad you had fun!

Sounds like you had a wonderful vacation. I'm glad you enjoyed Universal. I agree with you on room view. Although, last summer when we stayed at RPR we had a view of the water way, IOA, City Walk and in the distance US. We could watch the fireworks at US from our room. That was a great view!

Yep, it was great.

No gift for son...said they were out. They did offer a free pay-per-view movie, but we never used it...we were in Orlando...who stops to watch a movie??

A really great vacation thanks for sharing it was great

:) Can't wait to go back, we had a blast. There is SO much to do. In 4 1/4 days, we still didn't see and do everything we wanted to. A perfect excuse to return, not that I need one!

Great reports!

You should try the Hard Rock next time. We stayed there last year and we loved it.

I'm glad you all had a great trip. :) Sorry you missed the GBs...but I have the last show on my website if you want to see what the fuss was about.

Thanks, it was great. Only wish we could have gotten there a few days sooner :(

Going to check out the last show now!

I hope you enjoyed the video. Just remember...you've probably seen a few of the "famous former-gbs" around the park during your trip doing other things.

Video was awesome...very funny and SEXY! If I walked by one of them during our trip, I will be very sad! I really feel unlucky. Any chance they will bring the show back? Wishful thinking, probably.

Great job on the website, btw!

I'm glad you enjoyed it. :) They won;t be bringing the show back b/c of the copyrights that caused the show to go away, however maybe eventually they'll replace it with something...hopefully. And, odds are you saw some of them.

And thanks for the compliment! :)

Too bad! Well, if any of them get a job there doing something else you'll have to let me know. I think I could watch them doing just about anything.

You let me know when you get back to USO, and I'll meet up with ya and tell you the stories... it's actually quite amusing to see where some of them ended up. They're all really talented, so they do n excellent job in all that they do. :)
